Alternative domain sealing methods and dark lord curses?

I haven't posted in years, but I'm glad to see this community is still undead and well!
I seem to recall a project years ago where forum members were revising the methods some dark lords used to seal their domains, as well as their curses, to make them more original, unique and (in the case of dark lord curses) tragic.
For example, in the original black box, several domains all shared "the mists lead adventurers back into the domain" if the adventurers try to leave against the dark lord's will... which was deeply unimaginative and unsatisfying. And Duke Gundar was just some run of the mill vampire living next door to Strahd, with no deeper backstory or meaningful curse.
Does this ring a bell at all? If yes, can someone point me to the netbook, post, or other source where this information might have been compiled?
Thanks in advance for your time and assistance!
