Who is Quoth the Raven?

Like, as a person. As a raven. Who is the character our magazins are named after, and why?
I tried checking mistipedia but didn't find any lore about it there.

Note to myself: always google things in normal google rather than a specific website before I decide I can't find them myself. Turns out it's an Edgar Allan Poe reference...

It’s also the name of the talking raven in the Discworld books that the Death of Rats uses as a mount.
Named for the same reason as the netbooks.

I like this idea. A rumor perhaps backed up by a few accounts in books of ravens of unusual size and perhaps plumage being kept a pampered pets of individuals in Ravenloft over the centuries. A few were known to be capable of speech, perhaps complex, perhaps simple like Oy the Billybumbler in King’s Dark Tower books who can only repeat the last word or syllable they’d heard though they seem to be more aware of what they’re saying than an animal should be. Perhaps a few rumors even tag the Raven of giving their “owner” advice or secrets
