Big Changes to the Forum - REVISED !

Greetings, members.

The Fraternity is going to start making changes to the forum.

Good news: Due to popular demand, we are now creating a bank of ghastly looking avatar to choose from. This bank should grow over time. If you want to design yours, sent them to isawtheraven@hotmail.com (make sure it is 80 pixels x 80).

Bad news: All members still having a picture in their signature will be shot on sight, their account deleted, their face painted blue, and we remove all their Oreo stash.

Also: From now on, we will also hunt those registering to the message board only to post advertising-type links in their profile (yes, pepotamo, that means you and other creeps).

In clear: If you have an odd web site link in your profile (something not related to this board's nature or similar interest) and never posted on the boards, we highly suspect you of registering just to advertise a web site in your profile to attract more people to your junk/scam. If it is the case (odd web site in profile, didn't post in a week), your dead Internet account here will be eaten by e-rats and sent in the e-mists.

Lastly, we're implementing this new board rule as well: No posting without membership. We are sorry, but due to some obscene attacks from "guests" bots, we must enforce this rule.

All these new rules are made with you in mind, to make you more comfortable here and to keep the trolls out.

So when can we expect these avatars to be live? How many will we have to choose from?

Soon.
How many will we have to choose from?
More then 3.

;)

Really, it should be soon. Dru is making us work hard on crafting little 80x80 pixels dolls with rotting flesh and other eeeeww-inspiring material.

So I read this, and wondering who pepotamo was, I clicked on memberlist, and sorted by total posts. I didn't know what to make of the fact that I'm number 9 in total posts. And #4, if you discount Frat members. Do I really spend that much time posting here? But then I saw Wiccy's post count was 6 times mine, and 3 times the runner-up (ScS) and suddenly didn't feel bad at all. Good god, man, do you ever leave the computer? :)

Don't forget that 80% of my post count was pre-Frat membership. ;)

And peppy was a guest that has shown up and posted fun-fun links to adult websites. Not our most favoritest person.

 Not the kind of person I'd care to associate with.

In anycase I highly recommend we get quite a few avatars as variety is the spice of life. I'd gladly wait another week extra or more if it means there will substantially more avatars available to choose from.

Sounds fair. Wouldn't want to see the recent incident repeated.

The first post of this thread has been revised to clarify things.

I also edited in this thread the posts not related anymore.

Hmmm... soon, so long as we keep the scissors away from Drusilla.
How many will we have to choose from?
As many as Drusilla doesn't hack and slash while to post them on the wall over there.

Sadly, I do have a life away form the pc, though my pc is on all day while I wait for message from those who commission me for illustrations and check it quite often (plus take the occasional break on it).

Here is a teaser for the avatars we have gathered so far:
avatars

Please remember that we are accepting submissions for new avatars with the following rules:
A) They be exactly 80 by 80 pixles in size.
B) They be less than 6 kb in memory.
C) They be in .jpg format.
D) The picture is themed towards Ravenloft, horror, or D&D.

Please send your avatars to isawtheraven@hotmail.com

Nice. I was wondering if you could use the book pics and I'm glad you can for avatars. Illithids, vampires, liches. I like that some are in black and white as well. With such a large variety (that could only grow over time) it should add a touch of individuality to some posters.

I thoroughly look forward to having one.

A good example just popped in: check Manuantos's profile, member # 278 (the link is a search engine (and his interest too)).

If this guy doesn't post in a couple of days, he's fried.

What kind of rules will there be for avatar submissionsa? Is it restricted to WOTc or White-wolf/AH owned pictures or can we use any image we find on the web (that fits the gothic feel)? I found quite a few good ones on www.elfwood.com

We don't think one should need permission for something as small as an avatar. So please use whatever gothic-themed you see fit.

However, of course, if an artist ever complain, we will have to remove it, but as I said, I don't think people will mind for avatars (considering all the avatars seen on other boards).

And while we're at it, I'd like to say public thanks to Claudio Pauzas who gave us permission to use his images in avatar.
