I had to sign up so I could vote for poor Gazetteer Volume III.

I have always had a soft spot for Mordent. When I was a child I read the short story anthollogy, and always remembered the tale about Wilfred Godefroy being devoured by his murdered wife and stepdaughter. I didn't learn that Ravenloft was a campaign setting for D&D until many years later, and the reading the story of Mordent's Dark Lord was what made the connection. Ever since then Mordent has remained my favorite domain. All of the information about the noble families, peasant superstitions and funeral customs really helped flesh out some of my campaigns.

What is the lost gazetteer????

For the five others gazetteer I know, I simply cannot say i enjoy one more than the others. They are all complimentary and i really enjoy reading the three I get and im looking forward to read the II and III.

I find the first one a little more complete in the appendix with the spell, monsters and prsetige class. But the gaz VI and V had more about the domains to describe, information I too enjoy.

Can we vote for the five one?

The Lost gazetteer is available for download in this site, you can find it in The Salon under Essays ;)

It is also in one of the USS, 2003 maybe, but the one in the Salon is updated and better :)

I would have voted for The Lost Gaz, if Invidia hadn't been covered in Gaz IV :P

Actually, it can be found in Quoth the Raven (pages 64-69 of issue ten to be specific). Wiccy is absolutely correct about a copy being available in the Salon as well, though. You can download Stanton Fink's project from either source.

As for favorite gazetteer, my vote would go for number IV. I've always enjoyed the sotuhwestern portion of the core the most, and this gazetteer was helpful in fleshing out this area.

My vote goes to Gaz. 1. As the first in the series, it set the bar for the series, and unlike all the later ones, it gave pretty even coverage to the four domains it covered. Gaz. 2 spent an understandable but still freakishly large amount of space on Darkon, almost to the exclusion of a couple others. Gaz. 3 covers some good domains, but the entry on Mordent is just too long for me. And I don't have 4 and 5 so I can't really comment on them.

I am still undecided between Gaz IV and Gaz V. Both were not very popular in this community, I believe, but they gave me a lot of inspiration for my games. :)

Quite all right, Wiccy, old boy! I tend to remember this little nuggets of trivia due to my late night wanderings through our library and study. It seems to be rather quiet and easier to read when Dru and Socko are busy with other matters at that time of night...

Gaz V for making me love Tepest, for Shadow Rift (which I always loved), for making Keening playable and for all the small details

Gaz I is still the one by which I judge all the others. I guess Gaz V gets second place in my mind.

I just hope they never tell you what they are up to in the maze at night, the less I know the better I feel. But there have been odd lights emenating from that area the past few nights... I am growing concerned for your sanity, let alone safety!!!!

I'd say Gazetteer #1 cause it was the most balanced and set the standard for the other ones..

I say #1 with the second not far behind. These are the two most original (getting bored with all those fauna descriptions) and with the most usefull gaming material and rules. #1 wins thanks to it's map, the best in the serie.

Gaz V all the way. I really like what's been done with Loht, Whyan, Maeve and Tristessa. Very inspiring characters. Also two thumbs up for keeping consistent with VRGttSF.

And the Shadow Rift map is pure brilliance.
