Adventures in Sithicus

Hello,

I am thinking of starting a new campaign involving Sithicus and Barovia. While I already have a nice collection of adventures to use in Barovia, I have absolutely nothing for Sithicus.

Can you think of a good adventure set there, officially published or made by fans?

Would be really helpful, as I don't have the time to make something up...

Thank you in advance,

Rafael

When Black Roses Bloom is one of the best Ravenloft adventures, but it's got Soth in, so if you're doing a post Night of Screaming Shadows adventure it's not that helpful.

I realize it's not a fleshed-out adventure, but I've always liked the "Keepers of the Coil", by JWM in the Book Of Souls Kargatane Netbook. It describes a sect of the Guardians in Sithicus.

Other ideas might include

- Father Guran (Bo Shadows) - an undead priest, Huecuva, CE

- Children Of Wrath (USS 2002) - secret society of elves fighting the tyranny. Unfortunately, this group of would-be freedom fighters is riven by internal dissension... (by: Nathan Okerlund)

Thank you for the info! :D

I was thinking indeed thinking of setting it after the Night of Screaming Shadows, so Black Roses Bloom won't help me too much.

I am planning an epic scope, to have a plotline I can work with. After Sithicus, I'd like to send the same characters through *The Nine of Hearts* and then through *Castle Ravenloft*...

But for Sithicus, I've no idea until now. I#ll check the free stuff and then report the result.

:)

Any other suggestions are very welcome!

You can still use WBRB for the ruins of Nedragaard Keep.

As you all recommend me that book so strongly, I'll try to get it, no doubt with that.

Never had been interested in Sithicus too much until now... Actually, I thought WBRB was a novel, not an adventure... :Brain:

Spectre of the Black Rose (and another, but I can't recall the name ATM) were novels about Soth.

And then When Black Roses Bloom was an adventure.

I always got 'em mixed up, too, don't feel bad.

'Knight of the Black Rose', by Jim Lowder, 1991, second Ravenloft novel published
'Specter of the Black Rose', also by Lowder, 1999, last Ravenloft novel published.

As I don't want to open a new tgread just for link, i'll hijack this one.
This might be of use for DM's running adventures inn Sithicus (esp. pre-Spectre):

Get the novels, Des they're great!

Some information on the Wanderers is in Champions of Darkness iirc. Or was it Heroes of Light?

In addition to the map of Nedragaard, WBRB could easily spawn a sequal of sorts. The wizard who crafted the magical mirrors from the adventure could have created prototypes first, or fragments of the originals might still be around, so adventurers might find themselves in the same realms of imagination, even after Soth's departure ... but transformed, since the death knight's departure, into something new, startling and (of course!) scarier.

The wizard who made the mirrors has a weird connection to the Carnival, BTW. I won't spoil the secret here, but if Azrael'd ever met the mirror-maker, he'd no doubt think the Carnival's "barker" looks (but perhaps not smells) awfully familiar....

Hehehe... That map looks interesting... The stuff from SovPress isn't bad...

As to the novels, I am gonna get them! - Sithicus seems a good place to adventure... And since my Barovia campaign will wait in any case until Castle Ravenloft is out, well, why not try this domain? :)

I did a collection of adventure seeds for one of the "Book of S__". I thing they were were set in the southern core, so some of that stuff might be Sithicus-applicable.
