Mock Latin

Hi,

I have used in my campaign a text in mock-Latin to give the right feeling for old and forbidden things. To do it, I have made an Excel spreadsheet that generates the text in almost convenient form, as long as you put in the base forms for each word you want to use and a few bits about the grammar function of the word in the text. It saves a lot of work (although it still gives some).
As for the results, below is the text I used in the campaign. I don't speak Latin so I don't know how good this is (if I spoke Latin, I wouldn't have done this in the first place).
I would be grateful if you could comment on this.
Also, if anyone is interested in using it, write to me and I will send the sheet to you with some instructions on how to use it.

Calendarius Barovianus 350

Explorator secreto oculte, tu quid trovavisti istem liberem sape quod tempos nigres adproximant. Andral sedet grande et dirigevit me in constructii Symboli Sacratis Ravenitae sed multu in istem mundum habo videtus et ora sto certus que causas habet quod fugent explicatii divine.
Non devies iam oculi tui. Audi me ad fini sine me proquod istus sacrilegio negare.

This looks really useful to me--not quite as useful as actually learning Latin, perhaps, but so much quicker. ;) I'd be very interested to see your program (e-mail address is in the Greenhouse).

To all that asked me for the sheet, I'm in the process of making it more user-friendly for you, since it was made for my personal use. It doesn't have any special features, and I remind you again that you still have to do some work and know a bit of grammar, but I'm putting everything in English and writing an instructions sheet. When this is done, I'll send it to those that asked.

Thank you for the interest.

I too would be interested. I have tried latin translators but they really dont seem to work how i expected. I think that if you could sent it to me it would be very useful. I would really appreciate it. I think that i will use it to represent Draconic. Thanks and good job, it sounded really genuine.

Would it be to presumptious to ask if this translator program was made available at the Fraternity by way of a download like other extras? It sounds most useful.

I second oan's request. otherwise: YES! I totally want that! I actually took Latin for 3 years, so I know a little, enou8gh to work through short passages given sufficient time (and ressources) so I'm sure I could make some great handouts with that!

(my email should be in my profile, I think)

Thank you all for the interest. I'll send it to those who asked and whose email I can find, but I've already sent it to Joël (just a scant few minutes ago) so it will eventually be downloadable from the Frat.
