Domains of Dread: Avenger Class

Hello,

Just a quick question: Has anyone to work out the *avenger* kit from Domains of Dread as a viable PrCl or even CCl?

I know, there's that Corrupt Avenger in HoH, but I am not totally satisfied with that *generic* option...

Yours,

Rafael

It's in Van Richten's Arsenal.

Thank you! VRA is one of the 3e books I still have to buy!

How did they treat the Avenger in there, btw? :)

Well. It's a 10 PrC which any class can take (though fighter classes will obviously get into it quicker than others). You gain the ability to "sense" the general direction of your chosen foe, you gain progressively better bonuses while fighting that foe, and you gain bonuses against enemies that remind you of him (could be his minions trying to keep you from him, or creatures that are very similar).

I highly recommend you get it. It is one of the finest products in the Ravenloft line.

Thank you for the detailed info! - Now, that seems like nothing I personally would incorporate into my games.

I got interested into this because Kas is presented as a Lvl 17 avenger in the book... - But really, for 3e terms, I think *Blackguard* would fit far better... :)

Yeah, indeed. I had thought that I had enough RL material so far, but indeed, VRA and maybe Legacies of Blood are something I absolutely have to buy to complete my collection. My only problem is that I usually buy only those books I really need to play, and so miss many of gems... I once ran a Darkon campaign based only on RL 3e... :)
