Hi,
I've recently turned to use PCGen to make the sheets for my campaign and I'm now going through the process of making my own .lst files to accomodate the specifics of Ravenloft that my players have.
I wanted to know if any of you has experience of using PCGen and if so, has any of you converted the Shield of Ezra ability? How did you do it, as a Feat, a Spell or something else entirely?
Thanks.

As a part time job, I process datasets for codemonkey, and I did do a ravenloft dataset (rphb and bits of dod) back in version 5.6 of PCGen. I can't remember the specifics of the shield of ezra ability though, or how I did it, though I've got the dataset somewhere around if you want to take a look at it.
The only part that wasn't fully functional was the monster hunter prc. I may take a look at the dataset soon because I've got another set due out soon so I can refamiliarise myself with pcgen. I use it for my own campaign as well (vampire templates and such are handy).

Thanks, I'd like to see the text for it, if you could send it to me. Also, I've done most of the work by now of things that I wanted to translate, but yesterday I couldn't implement the Parthian Rapier satisfactorily. The problem is it has two different weaposn in it, one ranged, one melee, with different statistics even (which prevents me from simply saying it is TYPE:ranged.melee) and it is NOT a double weapon, and thus should not incur the penalties of fighting double-handed. I did try it as a double weapon, but then in the listing of combat statistics, it appeared 3 times (not 2) and didn't give me ranged stats.
I'm thinking of making it into two different items, one of them with Cost 0 and Wt 0, but that is not completely satisfactory.
Any idea?

I suppose it wouldn't be very useful to you, Jasper, as I'm only doing it on a need by need case. That is, I only adapt what my players have or use. A feat here, a domain there, some piece of equipment and that's it.
But I could always send it as inspiration material....

Seeing as Ravenloft is now being sold out, and WOTC/Arthus has not replied as to what might be done about datasets, I'll release this as is onto the web, at least for a while.
It is not permissioned. It is not for resale or inclusion with any version of PCGen. It is for personal, home-brew campaign use and is presented as-is.

Note that this will require some customization to get running in your campaign. At the moment, it's set to add on to the eberron setting and core rules from CMP. It also includes my experimental lycanthrope template that will work more faithfully to the rules.
Races have also had common removed from their auto lists. Now they get a domain language based on their ravenloft domain (which is added to the character upon selection of race).

I should probably mention that this is a mostly complete dataset. It should have some representation of everything in the RLPHB be it working or otherwise. I have no solution for the parthian rapier. I put it in as a double weapon.
I originally built the dataset so I could use vampire age categories on my characters. Coincidentally, if you want to use them, you must use the ravenloft vampire (fledgling) template instead of the normal one to access them properly. All other age categories should work, although from memory the fiend reality wrinkle is a bit messy.
Other than that, the monster hunter template and its derivatives do not correctly function. That is all.

Thanks. I've downloaded it too, and I'll be taking a look when I can. That saves a lot of work

No worries. I did take another look at the damned monster hunter prestige class, but it's a pain in the arse. One of these days I'll sort it out, and update the whole damned thing to properly work in PCGen 5.8.1.
