Nice and gruesome. But here's the question: would this work better as an evil tome of Magic bound in human skin, or perhaps a cruel custom practiced in one of the more nasty domains, maybe by Elena Faith-Hold or Yagno?

Its funny actually, tthe book was described a a ledger.
What kind of accountants did they have back then?

Then again, it seems that everyone was doing that sort of thing - even lawyers.

But still, it kind of makes you wonder about the fool that stole the book in the first place. Now there's a nasty surprise.

The one I "liked" best was binding the court records of an execution in the defendant's own skin. That's just bizarre.... I could see someone in RL doing it. But who? Elena? Drakov doesn't bother with trials (if he did, he'd have quite a library.) The Lawgiver inquisition?

I suspect the thief never knew what he had-- all he saw was a book that couldn't be fenced for a quick fix, so he tossed it away.

Well you need a special type of book to keep track of all the times you took your pound of flesh in payment. :)

That's exactly like Strahd's diary in Memoirs.

I didn't know that they actually did that though. Disturbing.

Funny, first thing that comes to my mind involves Ebenezer Scrooge becoming a skilled necromancer in order to ward off any more meddling ghosts...
