A moment of silence

There was a shooting at Dawson College in Montreal yesterday.
This is reminiscent of the Polytechnique from a few years back.

I join Patrick in this moment of sadness for my city. I don't know anyone who was directly affected by this tragedy but such things should never happen

Yes, it's an horrible event.
Thank God (or whatever) there was only one victim. Amazing job from the police (Wacko could have done much more worse.)
Prime Minister Stephen Harper did not directly address the issue of gun control legislation on Thursday, but told reporters:
"We can obviously just observe that laws we have didn't prevent this tragedy, which is why our government will be ... looking to make our laws more effective."
Hey, Harper, why on earth do we need semi-automatic guns in Canada!!!!!!

Hey Joël,
Please don't get me started on that idiot Harper.
Yes, obviously we don't need gun control here in Canada...
Even though I don't like our Quebec PM, he did mention something about looking into what could be done. We shall see.

So Harper's going to make the law more effective...by getting rid of the gun registry?
I was stunned when I saw the headlines on the net about it. Then they were talking about three gunmen and four dead. I feel for that poor young woman's family, but am relieved there wasn't more deaths. I also hope the four in critical are able to recover.

I hadn't heard anything about it until I went into class on Wednesday and everyone was talking about it. I go to a bilingual campus in Toronto and so there were quite a few people from that area and it was very solemn. I read the paper later and felt sick to my stomach when I read about it. My condolences to the victims and their families.

Why does the word need guns? Wouldn;t we be better off without them?
*I hate guns, just in case anyone didn't already know that*

You know, it's been quite some quite some time since I'd such a depressing moment as when I realized the only good thing in all this is that goth culture and video games were being used as media strawmen with slightly less vigor than they had been after Columbine.
