Have you ever felt in RL?

I'm currently working in a project that has take me away from home. Currently, I'm at Lima, Peru, in the middle of winter. Yesterday I went to the beach, and the sea was covered by a black fog that made visibility next to impossible. Indeed, it looked as if the ocean had no end whatsoever, extending in all of its darkness to fuse with a black sky. It was interesting, but a little creepy. I wonder if "the Mists" look like that.

Oh, well, and today I ate a typical food that they call just "blood"... Yummy! :Strahd:

Last October, I was in Montreux Switzerland. My hotel balcony overlooked the Chateau Chillon Castle on the shores of Lake Geneva. Under the full moon there in the Alps, I could easily picture Barovia/Transylvania. I also toured the castle at Gruyeres on the same trip. Here's my wife in front of the castle, I did take other pictures of her in the very dungeon written about by Lord Byron.

This last January, I was in Chamonix France, where I took the cablecar near to the top of Mont Blanc and overlooked the glacier where the Frankenstein monster confronted his maker & demanded a mate in the novel "Frankenstein". Here's me there at 13,000 feet.

Oh, and also, I share an office with a gal that looks exactly like Natalia Vorshkova, and she has previous experience working at a wolf sanctuary.

UPDATE EDIT: The fog came in over Lake Geneva several times when I was in Montreux, but it only made me laugh, as that was the location sung about by Deep Purple in the song "Smoke on the Water"

A year ago I was leaving a local Horror themed amusement park that pops up around Halloween time, and as I was making my way to my car with a buddy of mine, this beautiful wall of thick fog rolled out of the nearby tree line which ran along the Minnesota river and engulfed the entire parking area in a matter of short minutes.

It was amazing to see and be in at the time. During the whole experience I was saying to my friend "Yes! Yes! It is finally here!" to make him uncomfortable. To this day he is the most apprehensive RL player I have in my group.

Other then that I had a great many RL moments while driving truck for the US Army while I was stationed in Germany for two years, and a couple notable first hand "Ghost" stories from my year and a half in upstate NY.

I live in San Francisco and used to work on Mt. Parnassus, and during the summer the fog would often roll in from the ocean at maybe 20 miles per hour and swallow up the city.

I grew up in the mountains, where the fog just sits, and it's still really creepy to see the fog move--and move quickly.

One trip I made to southwest China with my mother took us to a thin airstrip in Lijiang (a town a little from the provincial capital Kunming).

The airstrip was in a tiny valley surrounded by impressive mountains. Mists rolled in on all sides of the airstrip, which was itself spared only because of some geographical quirk.

It was a truly awesome start to a consistently awesome trip.
