Hello everyone!

Sorry, I've been absent for quite some time, after my last group decided they didn't really like my campaign (too dark, not heroic enough, too few fights...). Well, I've just put together another group, hopefully their idea of a good RPG is more compatible with my image.

But to the question: In Gaz II is a very enticing description of Maykle - I've always loved a good madness in my horror campaigns. Needless to say, my players will inevitably take a guided tour there. I don't have all the RL material, so I guess the description is a reference to some other published books? If so, could somebody tell me which book, or if there is a canon-source for the madness spreading throughout the town?

Thanks in advance for your help! Any further suggestions for an enjoyable visit to Maykle are always welcome, of course

Thanks a lot for all the references! Especially the Ravenloft-L list-link was a really interesting read! I'm not through with all the references, but so far I guess there hasn't been a canon explanation of what's wrong with the population? Apart from invisible imps and gas bubbles

. I mean, there are so many hidden references in the Gazetteers to other RL books that I only found out about much later, so I thought this would be another one...
