So pardon my ignorance, but who is this person? I for one don't watch horror flicks or play any video games, so this is perhaps why I've never heard of him?

I did google him and the only movie I've ever heard of is the Dungeon Siege one which I haven't seen. Though I heard it was terrible.

He makes movies based on video games which are all terrible beyond words. He's a blight on the industry that makes the entire sub-genre look bad and probably keeps good, quality people from making video game movies.

And he's a smug, arrogant prick about it which really rubs me the wrong way and helps me want bring him down.

The 'Go Uwe!' petition which he urged his fans to support was put up pretty much immediately after that youtube video. Unfortunately for Uwe, the response to that petition has been a bit more tepid. Here it is.

So far it's gotten 4,478 signatures. The 'Stop Uwe' petition, however, is now up to 207,062 signatures.

Incidentally, for those unfamiliar with his works, here's a list of the rankings that some of his movies have gotten at Rotten Tomatoes. This should give you an idea of how horrible his movies are.
