The [[Czega Family]] was a [[family]] of [[outlander]]s with [[noble]] heritage that dabbled in [[necromancy]]. They created the original [[Radiant Tower]] and [[Well of Bones]] to house their magical experimentation. Though their intents were originally pure, their magic [[ritual]]s eventually veered towards the vilest of black magic. Eventually, [[the Mists]] took away the Tower and its catacombs and, in so doing, robbed the Czegas of everything they owned. Left without their perverse toys, the family passed away in poverty.<ref>[[Death Unchained]] p.28</ref>

Among their accomplishments, the family used [[clockmaking]] technology to build a gigantic [[pendulum]] inside of the [[Well of Bones]] that could drain the youth out of sacrificial victims and use it to power the various horrible enchantments worked inside the catacombs and the tower.<ref>[[Death Unchained]] p.45</ref>
