Erak is a major character from the [[4th Edition]] era novel [[the Mark of Nerath]]. He is a [[revenant]] that was [[reanimated]] by and serves [[the Raven Queen]]. Although he was an amnesiac, Erak felt bits and pieces of his former life and was guided as to the mission he needed to accomplish. Erak and a band of [[adventurer]]s prevented [[Magroth]]'s [[sacrifice]] of [[Falon]] in order to reanimate a legion of [[undead]]. When he struck down Magroth, Erak remembered his former past life as [[Krondor]], the brother of [[Kalaban]] and a member of Magroth's Imperial Guard some five centuries earlier. Because Magroth's depravity became too great, Krondor [[betrayed]] Magroth and [[murdered]] him, only to be struck down by Kalaban in return. Erak was only able to kill Magroth using powers gained through a favor from the Raven Queen, a favor the Raven Queen asked him to repay in service to her as a revenant.
