A minor character from the Heart of Midnight novel, Eiren is a medical researcher and butcher turned vivisectionist with a sadistic streak. He tortures people both for the thrill and the knowledge he might gain. He lives in Skald and is a friend of Harkon Lukas. He works out of his cellar. Anna is

Casimir Lukas conspired with Eiren Von Daakau to poison Harkon Lukas and deliver him to Eiren's torture chambers. Eiren made some poison, but did not actually participate in the act of poisoning and attacking Harkon.[2] Although Casimir fails and dies[3], discovery of Eiren's involvement by Harkon is never mentioned in Heart of Midnight.
