The Dnar River has as its source Mount Nyid in the Mountains of Misery. It flows down, out of Darkon and into Nova Vaasa, through the Forgotten Hills and merges with the Vaughn Dnar River opposite Kantora, becoming the South Dnar River. The South Dnar drains into the Nocturnal Sea just north of Egertus at Guldstrand Beach via the Katsmund Canyon. The South Dnar, at least, is navigable, with difficulty owing to its current, by small ships between Kantora and the sea, with cargos being transferred to and from larger vessels at the beach. [[Stonegard], the fortified seat of the Bolshnik family, sits on the east bank of the Dnar River and the north bank of the Vaughn Dnar River, facing Kantora. The Dnar is not fordable at this point, there could be a bridge, but a ferry seems more probable.
