Led by Pieter Fischer, the Fischer Family own and operate the Graben Fish Market as well as the Village of Graben's fishing boats. Fischer men tend to be tall, muscular, and hardy.[1]

By 760 BC, the Fischer Family, along with the Cooper Family and the Stromm Family, have transformed the Village into a thriving boomtown. Pieter Fischer has led the charge against the overall conservative and stodgy nature of the Grabenites. Once the economy got rolling, Pieter easily rolled over opposition to his modernization efforts as the patriarchs of opposing families began to die off. (Professor Viktor Hazan wonders if their deaths are all of natural causes).[2]
The Fischers have made commercial success for themselves as well as Graben-town in general. Although considered an ugly eyesore[3], the Fischer Packhouse uses manufacturing and packaging methods adapted from Lamordian innovations.[4] Although a commercial victory, many Grabenites would like to see the Packhouse burned to the ground.[5]
