Note: This article covers an evil type of fey fond of drowning humanoids. For a list of people killed by drowning, see Drowned. For the special type of undead that can arise from those deaths, see Drowned (Undead).

Drownlings are malicious water fey that despise all humanoids and prefer to lair in swamps or bodies of stagnant water. Appearing as female humanoid children, drownlings live together in small coveys of three. They work together to confuse and confound humanoids they encounter before drowning them.[1]

Drownlings can be encountered in the following domains: Borca[2], Darkon[3], Falkovnia[4], Kartakass[5], Mordent[6], the Shadow Rift[7], Souragne[8], Tepest[9], and Valachan[10]

Descriptive Text

“If you should see a little girl there by Dollwith’s Pool, young master, never you give her your hand!” the old man said. “She and her sisters are fey, the drownlings they call them; they look like wee lasses drenched to the bone, and one pretends to drown while the other calls for help. But the third, you see, she has a little net; and she wraps it around a man in the water, and all three together drag him to the bottom.
