The Catacombs of Deir el Medina lie beneath the ruined city of Deir el Medina. These winding tunnels were dug beneath the city in the days following Anhktepot's mummification and the collapse of Akiri civilization as the people of the city were unable to leave. The living eventually fled there, and became the serpent men living in the Temple of Set below. Although the butu plaguing the city's surface are barred from entering, wights, ancient dead, and shadow asps wander the catacombs.[1]
