Lovina Wachter was born to Victor Wachter and Oleka Dilisnya in Prime Material Barovia in 342 BC. She had three siblings, was the granddaughter of Pidlwik Dilisnya and Duchess Dorfniya Dilisnya, and was the niece of Gertrude Dilisnya, Ivan Buchvold, Reinhold Dilisnya, Nadia Yakimov and Leo Dilisnya. She attended with her family the wedding of Sergei Von Zarvoch in 351 BC. Leo orchestrated a massacre to wipe out the Von Zarovches. Reinhold, Gertrude, Ivan, Oleka, and three of her children died in Castle Ravenloft, their blood on Leo's hands. Lovina and her father survived. Victor fought for the lives of his family and for that of his lord Count Strahd von Zarovich who also survived, after a fashion. Victor was rewarded for his loyalty by being made a boyar and perhaps also being granted land in the immediate vicinity of the Krezk Pass. He spent the remainder of his life searching for Leo Dilisnya and, without finding him, died in 372 BC, survived by Lovina. Lovina took up the search and located him in 398 BC, informing Count Strahd of the fact by letter. She was eager to see Leo suffer and ultimately supplied the tomb in which he was imprisoned. From which point, the Wachter family enjoyed, and prospered under, the protection of the Count of Barovia.
