Voan Darl

Voan Darl is a character from I, Strahd, The War Against Azalin; he appears in Strahd's in-character narrative that comprises much of the novel's text. In universe, Voan Darl was an assassin from Darkon. He was once a guest at Heather House, but he was banished from there after an honor duel resulted in the death of another Darkonian guest. Staying at an Mordentish inn, Voan Darl eked out a meager living as a gambler. He bore no love for Azalin Rex because of Azalin's execution of a woman he loved, which drew Strahd's attention when Lovina Wachter notified him. Strahd ordered Lovina to hire Darl to kidnap General Vychen, but Strahd ultimately dominated Darl to ensure his loyalty.
