Hornung's Baneful Deflector

2nd level Evocation (Wild Magic) spell

Developed by the outlander wild mage Hornung the Anarch, Hornung's baneful deflector is a wild magic spell that redirects incoming missile attacks (including missile spells such as magic missile but not area of effect attacks) directed at the target of this spell to a random nearby creature. (The original target of the missile attack is also included in the random target list, meaning thes spell could redirect the attack only to have it come back and strike the original target.) Despite not being a wild mage himself, Strahd derived a reversed form of hornung's baneful deflector, Strahd's Baneful Attractor, that draws in nearby spells instead of redirecting them.
