Assumptions and Added Details

Hazlan is drawn from Thay, a region in the Forgotten Realms of which I know regretfully little. Taken the position of the domain, though, it is natural to equate the domain with either a medieval Greece or a Turkish setting.
While I tried to keep names in the flavor of this domain, I cannot say I am familiar with how the names in the domain were originally chosen, so they may not all fit very well.

As for adding to the original map, taken from Realms of terror: The domain itself has not featured in a lot of stories, though a few facts were revealed in 'Champions of the Mists': the order of the Guardians have a site in this domain known as the Iron Sanctum. From 'Children of the Night:Ghosts' I took Skansorro, a village 'wedged between two mountains, and a forest'.
From a less official source I took the Black Spire: an oddly shaped rock that serves as a portal to Bluetspur. The spire is described by Chris Nichols on the Secrets of the Kargatane website.
My own additons were few: I named the two rivers, and I placed the Black Citadel, the main temple of the Lawgiver in Hazlan. I chose as it's location Sly-Var. The temple, a massive structure of dark stone, looms over this small town, dominating the environment with its black towers.
