Victorian Era Gothic Horror Movies
Hello all! As my subject line suggests, I'm a huge fan of the Victorian Era Gothic Horror setting. I'm looking for any, and all suggestions on movies that focus on this setting, and the Gothic Horror genre. I have Bram Stokers Dracula, and Johnny Depp's "From Hell" which are both great, bu...

Re: Looking for Out of Print Material?
This is not an entirely fair comparison. Hardcopy books are still very much an accepted standard medium for reading. Bookstores still sell books and people still read them. Indeed, some boutique bookstores have the publishing rights to take an e-book and print and bind it for you while you wait. Ye...

Re: A new idea for golems
I can think of storylines but I was thinking of game mechanics in 3.5. What kind of changes, if any, do you think I should make for golems using this idea. I see. Unfortunately, I can't help you much there. I'm an old 2nd Edition player, and know very little about 3, and 3.5. Sorry.. I would think ...

Re: Looking for Out of Print Material?
Do you still own a record player? You would be the only person I know who still does. The analogy was supposed to be somewhat allegorical. No, I don't own a turntable anymore. The point I was trying to make has to do with owning the original product over something that had been printed out, and bou...

Re: A new idea for golems
Oh, I like that a lot. That could work very well for storyline purposes. As far as game mechanics, well, I guess that would depend on what edition your using. Regardless, I would think this could be integrated into any one of them relatively easy. Nice work!

Re: RIP Tony Curtis alias Danny Wilde
Agreed. I was saddened to hear of his death, but he did live a long life, and for that we can be thankful. I've never seen "The Persuaders", but remember him from many different films. Most notably, "Some like it Hot", and "Spartacus".

Re: odd terror tracks?
Many years ago, I was running a game of Red Death, and put an Adept(Mage), through a quite grizzly experience. The characters had chased down an evil necromancer, and found themselves in his laboratory. The necromancer had made his escape through a magical portal, and the characters were trying to f...

Re: How goes the new QtR?
If you don't mind my asking, I was wondering, could you explain to me exactly what "Quoth the Raven" is? Forgive me, I'm relatively new to these forums.

Re: Ravenloft as featured article of Wikipedia today!
Hmmm... I just looked it up, and found "Fraternity of Shadows" to be at the top of the "External Links" list near bottom of the page. Very cool! 8) Oh... I see what the biz is. The featured article is on "Ravenloft" the module or I6. This does not have the link to "...

Re: Tarokka and Curses
Like many others I've never really tried using the tarokka decks. While I thought the idea was kind of cool, I just didn't see the need for them outside of using them as a prop. As Gonzoron said, even if you don't know the actual divination of the card, it's easy enough to create something that some...

Re: "Fair Better in Death" Campaign Journal Comments
Thanks for the info Gonzoron. I admit I was hoping for a quick response, as I had worked pretty hard on it. heheh As of late, I've had plenty of time on my hands, and I forget sometimes that not everyone else may be that fortunate. Sorry..

Wow!! Somebody actually read it, and decided to comment. LOL!! Forgive my excitement. I was beginning to wonder if my work had been deemed "unworthy" by the readers here. Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Since I actually have at least one reader interested, I'll be sure to p...

Re: Masque of the Red Death! : GURPS Style!
I've also picked up the 3rd edition books on Monsters and Undead as well. Which ones? I've been trying to figure out which books to get for Monsters/Undead stuff. The pre-made templates for these things are something I could really use. It's going to be difficult enough just trying to figure out th...

Masque of the Red Death! : GURPS Style!
Hello all! I was reading through HuManBing's thread regarding Ravenlot using GURPS as a game system, and thought I'd post a separate thread. If any of you have been reading my other posts, then you'll know that I'm currently running a Masque of the Red Death: 2nd Edition AD&D game. It's become a...
