Archedius exaggerates his limp a bit more than usual and takes a step towards the Smith,
"I do not need a blade, but I do need your expertise on the matter of enchanted weaponry. I will compensate you for your time, of course." He nods his head downwards respectfully.

He reaches into his cloak and removes 3 gold coins and hands them to the man,

"Tell me all that you can on enchantments that will allow blades to cleave through flesh as if it were air. I would also like to know about enchantments that aid skill in the use of weapons and if you've made or sold any such items or know anyone who has."

The old smith pockets the coins. He frowns and absentmindely scratches his gut for a moment before telling Archideus,

''I know some tricks to put extra shine on a blade, make it a bit stonger, or make it proof against rust. I don't have the skill at magic to make the kind of magic blades you mean, to be honest with you. If you want that sort of thing, you'd best try those gnomes, the Shrenan brothers. They keep a shop hard by the Citadel. Not bad sorts for foreigners, real quiet and don't make any trouble.''

"Thank you for your honesty. If I find myself in need of a weapon, I will be coming to you."

Archedius nods his head and leaves the shop, heading for the Shrenan brother's store.

Inovidil looks carefully around so she can recognize the place if she needs to come again with the others and keeps paying attention to the 3 men.

Alain gives a nervous tight lipped smile and averts his gaze to something else, possibly a picture on the wall or something on the captains desk. He waits patiently for the runner to come back with the list.

Xanthippe answers-

''More than once , I have spotted her sticking a key into her bodice. I think that that key might have been the one which opens the strongbox, but of course I cannot be certain. ''

As the boat glides through the water [and Ino glides through the air trailing it] Ino gradually begins to recognize the landmass towards which the little vessel is headed. It is Fishgut Rock- the island she'd visited eralier, on which Delthrin's home is built. As the boat draws near to the Rock, Deltrhin gives a soft voiced command and his steersman shifts course to avoid running against the rocks at the base of the great rocky cliff which forms the coastline of this side of the isle. A light flashes through the fog from someplace atop the rocks. Delthrin's steeersman [the other fellow is playing the oars] raises a lantern up and slowly waves it over his head, three times.

Watch-Captain Rask's office, Militia HQ

After a brief, uncomfortable silence, the orderly arrives with a cheap cloth scroll. He sets the list down before Alain and then departs without a word.

Alain see perhaps two dozen names on the list. None are known to him. Some have notes appended: beggar, whore, fishmonger's wife, solider, etc. One name has been circled and underlined by some scrivener or another.
Aleena Korund Next to Aleena Korund's name is written:urgent case, Korunds in Spicer's Row

The Shrenan brothers' smithy/shop isn't hard to find, though Archideus must navigate both canals and narrow alleys to get there. It's in a neighborhood that's obviously suffered somewhat from the fires, to be sure, but the shop looks intact apart from some smoke stains on the outer stucco surface of the walls. Within, it is very well built, solid looking, and without any hint of ostentation. Every window has a tin faced shutter and bars set behind these. The doors are very sturdy in appearance. There are a few weapons on display, all of which look high quality to Archiedus' experienced eye- but he'd need to handle them to make sure of his estimation. Behind the counter is a gnomish woman.

The little storekeeper addresses Archideus in a soft and friendly tone.
''Welcome, how may we help you today?''

downstairs, parlor of the Celestial Palace

The man being questioned by Rardi looks increasingly uncomfortable. The color drains out of his face. He begins to shake a little, though it isn't cold or draughty within the brothel. He becomes visibly very agitated and even begins to stutter as he answers Rardi-

''I...uhhhh....I don't know anything about the Deadmaster. Look huh.. here, my friend is drunk, I'd best get him....huh...home. ''

The man jerks to his feet, seizes his drunken companion by the arm , and begins to make for the doorway.

"Good day sir, are you one of the esteemed Shrenan Brothers? If so, I have a private matter I'd like to discuss with you and have need of your expertise." Archedius reveals the tin star.

Melting away from the wall a slightly tall for a gnome figure appears to the right of Archedius . "No she's an employee of ours . What would you have of us ? "
"Evil only endures when good people remain silent ."
Tony inspired by Thomas Jefferson .
