After dusting himself off and cleaning his curvy knife with rag from his back pack he says some thing under his breath then touches his chest .

Ino looks all of them and then the illithid. Sighing she hands it the box and says:

"Here you are."

Looking at Dethrin now asks:

"Have you gotten a child, there is no chance to untie or let you speak, but you can always nod otherwise I guess my friend Rardi will be extremely upset...So have you gotten a child?"

"We do have with us a being that could likely answer these questions for Deltherin and save us some time. Since it's in all of our best interests to get out of here soon- I don't think trust is an issue."

Archedius nods to Inovidil and gestures towards Okithruu. He then looks towards the door to keep an eye on it.

at the Old Shell

"Sure Jamethon. You can tell me all about This place, Lantan, as we play."

Something is odd about this place tonight, he thinks to himself. Maybe it is just the pace of things. His nerves feel shot from all he went through this night, maybe he just can't snap back into focus and take the situation for what it is.
Then again, given what is said about the calm before the storm...

Deciding on small talk to help him relax, Alain walks with Jamethon to wherever he has chosen to play cards and starts making conversation.

"I don't know about you Jamethon, but this place seems damned. I feel as if their is a darkness here in this city that permeates the very walls and streets."
He pauses a moment, listening to his own words ring in his head.
"Of course, we have seen quite a bit recently. Perhaps recent experience is just distorting my perception.
"So You were going to tell me about Lantan? If it is a place I would like, I imagine music and lights...and some fine food and good wine." He allows himself to smile at the fantasy.

Shana staggers out from under the dark proch and drops to her hands and knees. Still invisible, her position is given away by her shuddering, hysterical sobs. Shuddering, she squeezes her eyes shut, but then snaps them open, focussing on the light.

"g..gods.. they were...eating me..."

The illithid takes the stones without comment, and stows them inside its toolcase.

Deltherin shakes his head. His eyes are hard. He is doing his best to scowl, but the gag gets in the way.

The Old Shell, common room, a table by the fire-

''Damned, you say? Yes, Alain, that's a fine way to put it. This place really is damned- marked by the death of a goddess. Our Lady fell here- her pure nature corrupted and blighted, fell and died. Perhaps Shana is right and Ezra lives in in that other world- our true home- but here she is fallen and the Mists of Death gather thick around us, pressing in , hungry for our souls.''

Jamethon stares at the table for a full minute in silence. Then he looks up, a half smile on his weary face.

''Well, that's enough of sadness for one night, hey? Let me tell you of a most wonderful country, wholly unlike this dreary city...''

Jamethon, forgetful of the half dealt cards on the table, provides Alain with a first-hand account of the isles of Lantan. He speaks of the beautiful parchment colored girls with voices like running water, the silk pavilions spread out on white sand beaches, the clever and tameable fishing monkeys, the aromatic tea served in silver cups and the sweet wine quaffed from crystal goblets, and the nighttime dancing under floating paper lanterns to the strains of lutes and pocket harpsichords. He goes on to tell of the mighty works of the engineers and artisans of the islands: automatons that sing or dance, chop wood or play chess; floating cannon, kites big enough to bear a child aloft, clocktowers the match of any in Richemulot or Dementlieu, and other wonderful creations of Man. He speaks with admiration of the peaceful and civilized nature of the country- though well armed, the Lantanese prefer trade to warfare. The potent fleets of the archipelago nation make war only on pirates and other evildoers.

''Alain, I do not say it is an earthly paradise. It has its share of villains and monsters, like any land. Yet even these things are perhaps good- for without them, there would be the risk of malaise, of a fatal ennui.''
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

Inovidil looks at the others, they needed some answers before the illithid will take the necromancer.

"Please let us interrogate him first, we need some answers from him. Will take only a couple of minutes. Then you can have him I guess you have some questions for him too am I right?"

Blaise staggers over to Shana and hugs her. "Yes, I know, me as well... but it's over now," he says quietly. His stomach churns as he looks at the gruesome bite marks on his body and Shana's. "I wish Rardi were here right now..."

Blaise looks over at Threan. "There have been a number of deaths and dark mysteries lately, and that necromancer Delthrin is connected to all of them. Our friend Inovidil is insatiably curious, damn her, so I'm sure she came here -- hopefully with Rardi and Archedius."

He stands up, wincing from the pain, and he offers to help Shana stand as well. "Now let's get inside."

the lab-

Okithruu broadcasts a signal to Ino, Rardi, and Archedius:

NO. THERE IS NO MORE TIME. ARCHEDIUS HAS ASKED, AND I HAVE PROVIDED THE ANSWERS. I WILL GO NOW.

The illithid walks towards Deltherin...

"Do we wanna stay n watch? Not sure I do, let's wait out the door there while the Illithid gets busy." Rardi shivers at the thought of the Necromancer in the hands of the mindflayer.
