While I understand the need for a players guide for 4E players since it's a new cosmology, I can't say that I'm not saddened by this change of edition, since I vastly prefer 3rd edition for Ravenloft.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. And I'm sure you wouldn't lack help from this board's fine members to do so, or make a dual release (separate 3.5 & 4.0 documents).Alanik Ray wrote:Why not keep stats for both editions? It would be a waste to discard all those 3.5 material when there's a lot of players and DMs in here that still use the old editon.

The system is irrelevent; we want the fluff! That's what makes this setting great.

Ouch Twin...try not to slap the writers in the face too hard...before you've EVEN seen the finished product.
In case you didn't know, this work is being put together by people in their off time as a labor of love, and is mostly game fluff and not rules, as has been mentioned.
And guess what? It doesn't cost YOU a penny. So maybe showing a bit more respect until the finished product comes out and then giving it a fair review based on it's contents, and not your preconceptions and feelings on an edition of D&D would be in order?

Well, there's always the option that, after Dion releases his guide, some willing and able forum members ask for his permission to do a "3.5 appendix" for those who prefer that rule system.Twin Dragons wrote:Okay, I'm sorry.![]()
I'm just seriously disappointed that it won't at least be dual statted.
Would that be possible, Dion?

Yup, but Dion's Guide would undoubtedly include new material worth converting to the 3.5 rule set.DocBeard wrote:Don't we already have a 3.5 rule system for Ravenloft?
But, hey, I'm not opposed to it.
