Yes that would explain it . But I suspect as soon Tarlyns game is up and running then he'll will probably stay ahead of you then . Both of you will be closing in on 5000 in a couple of months any way .

He's listed in the old Deities and Demigods as part of the Melnibonean Mythos [a god/animal lord of dogs]. I don't recall if he's actually mentioned by name in the stories.
