Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

After hearing the outraged monkey cries, Arnulf realizes that some of the monkey men have found the two dead ones. He follows Lorna, hoping she is trying to double back to surprise the outraged monkeymen.

Dalorna cuts a wide arc through the woods, hoping to avoid altogether the outraged monkey-men.

Alia follows quietly, hanging slightly towards the rear, staring mostly upwards at the trees above

[VAN]

As walking Sara listens some cries, so stops for a second and motions to the others to stop as well. Then whispers:

"I can hear baby cries, if you want I can go alone and scout the area for guards. Then I'll come back and tell you what I saw. If you hear gun shooting then come running, because they will have seen me."

Upon hearing the children's cries, Arnulf frowns. He is concerned for the children's safety and hesitant on using his sling in case one of his stones harms a child. Judging that others can in fact attack with ranged attacks and are probably better at it than he is, he opts for his dagger and short sword. Unsheathing the sword and taking his dagger, he moves as quietly as he can towards the sound of the children's cries, ready to spring into action.

Dalorna replies to Sara, whispering-

''Yes, that sounds good- please don't discharge those 'gonnes' unless you really must. Good luck.''

Alia. having heard nothing, nods to Sara and takes position looking in the direction of th outraged monkey cries, crounching behind a tree

Sara just nods and then heads as stealthy as she can towards the baby cries. As walking she scans the area up and down the trees.

As Sara fades in to the trees from the sight and hearing of the group . They are waiting for her to come back . After about 2 minutes the group hears to their rear a strange noise that they have never heard before .

Alia, already facing the rear, shifts a little more behind her tree, trying to make out the source of the noise. She levels her crossbow, taking a deep breath to calm herself.

Dalorna holds her position behind a tree and listens intently, hoping to get some idea of what is making the strange noise.

Arnulf stops where he is too. He tries to have a listen to what he has heard as well.

[Lord Skybolt]

The sound that is heard is by all, but especially well by Arnulf sounds like a something a pig would make . Though the sound is much deeper than what a normal pig would make . It sounds to Arnulf like what ever it is will be get to the group in the next minute or less .

Arnulf looks at Lorna and moves to her and whispers "SOunds like a big pig is coming this way and will arrive at any moment, warn the others."

He moves back to where the sound is coming from and hides behind a tree to surprise the approaching sound.

Dalorna turns to face the person nearest her and puts a finger to her nose, pushing up the tip to make a 'pig-face.' She puffs out her cheeks and tries to look angry.
