Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

The Professor notes the increase in tension as the others pass signals to one another in expectation of an attack. He does his best to stay close to his protectors, and also out of their way.

Isidar turns to the professor and whispers, “Professor, maybe you would not mind holding my mule's reigns. I want to be able to fight and I do not want her to run away.” Smiling she adds, “Ovina might be some added protection for you since she is a great kicker.”

[Lord Skybolt]

As the group waits for the pig thing arrive they hear some excited high sounding voices also coming there way from the same direction as if they were following the possible "pig" .

Dalorna looks for some non-irritant bushes in which to hide. She faces in the direction of the oncoming ''pig'' and it's probable pursuers, watching and waiting.

The Professor gives Isidar his full attention, failing to mask his anxiety over the situation he allowed himself to be talked into. Without much more than a nervous nod of understanding and submission, he agrees and takes the mules reigns.

Suddenly out of the bushes a comes a large pig trying to shake off at least two nets that haven been thrown over it but that don't seem to have slowed it down in the least as it comes roaring into the area were the party is waiting for Sara to get back from scouting ahead .

Dalorna, hiding in the bushes, grips her makeshift cudgel with both hands. She ignores the pig if it doesn't bother her, and makes ready to ambush the monkey-men she fully expects to find pursuing it.

Isidar will step aside for the pig and let it pass if it does not attack anyone. She will ready her warhammer for any pursuing monkey-men with the intention to stun (so as to take a prisoner).

Arnulf startles at the wild pig passing through the area. If it simply passes through, he leaves it be his heart beating fast as can be. Giving himself a few moments to compose himself, he looks around to see what the rest of his gathered party or companions are doing.

He attempts to see if Lorna is safe first then concentrates on the rest of the party.

The Professor can't help but yelp,"Gods!" as the pig bursts forth from the bushes. He stumbles aside to give the animal enough clearance and to stay out of it's way as it attempts to escape its nets.

[Lord Skybolt]

As the party is expecting some "monkey men" . They burst out after the pig they see at least six coming into the area they are waiting in .

The monkey men are all intent on their prey "the pig" . This is shown by at least two of them not having nets like the rest of their fellows, these two seem to be intent on getting their nets back . This group seems especially grungy and dirty to most of the city folk in the group . The group did not notice before, but these "monkey men" have some rather big teeth that drooling at the sight of the "pig" .

After a few moments, Professor Aumnoir scrambles to resume his position of cover behind the nearest capable protector.

Dalorna hurls her club at the nearest of the monkey-men. No sooner than she's launched the wooden missile, she jerks her dagger free from its sheath and retreats behind the tree to her immediate rear.

Alia leans out from behind her tree, levels her bow at one of the net-carrying creatures and squeezes the trigger. Swiftly she begins to reload. As she does so, she begn singing. The song is in Calishite, but is clearly of heroes and high deeds. It begins to set the blood pumping!

As the Monkey men come out after their "prey" Dalorna throws her improved club expertly . It connects and seems to fly through the things head in splattering brains putting it down for the count apparently . As the dithering professor Huln dives for cover behind Arnulf . Alia shoot's at another one that comes after having the crossbow bolt go clean through this one's head . As this happens Sara hears the faint sound of combat ahead her about 240 ft of her . As two of the Monkey men see Huln dive for cover behind Arnulf they come in pursuit of learned man as they get in reach of the Arnulf he stabs one of them through the chest and the other through the eye .

The remaining two look around in dumbfounded surprise at this turn of events .

As Isidar tries to take advantage of these events she swings at one of them to subdue .She swings at it badly and misses .

The boar shake off the rest the net's completely, then turns too look the Professor .
