Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

Alia whirls round and sings a soothing song again, eyes fixed on one of those attacking Huln

"May Osiris guide me swiftly..." The Professor says quietly as the beastly monkey-like men approach for the kill. He reluctantly readies his cane to defend himself, attacking defensively.

[VAN]

Sara doesn't hesitate a second, she slashes the monkey man with her raper.

[Lord Skybolt]

As the party reacts to the appearance of these reinforcements with Dalorna taking out one with another magical bolt of force through the chest of one threatening Huln . As this is happening Isidar caves in the the chest of one that attacked her . Then Sara kills the one that missed her with a slice to it throat . As Arnulf attacks he get's lucky and hits the one that attacked him as the Monkey man is slightly off balance from his charge at him . He takes him out with his two weapons in a blur of steel to its throat and its belly .

Just as this happens Professor Huln takes to his heels as he is attacked by the three that came from the direction were the children escaping to . Huln flays about with his cane to prevent the remaining 2 Monkey men from running after him as hides behind Dalorna who seems to have magic that is extremely effective against them as far as he can tell . As that is happening Alia tries to distract one the two monkey men, but seems to have no effect as that one just looks at her like a she is crazy .

The remaining two monkey men run to grab the kids in the nets and escape .

Dalorna directs Hobb, her raven, to follow the fleeing monkey-men from the air.

''Stay above the trees, so you'll be safe''

To Alia-

‘’Do you have a clear shot?’’

To her brother-

‘’Arnulf, get over here, quick!’’

Without a word, Alia spins around, lifts her crossbow and fires, trying to aim high to avoid the kids in nets

[steveflam]

Running as fast as his feet can carry him, the young barbarian crashes through the forest after the monekymen and the children in the net. "Today is a good day for you to die, cretins!!!!"

[VAN]

Sara runs after the monkey men as well.

[BigBadQDaddy]

The Professor begins rifling through his pack, "Where is it, now...aha!" before removing a scroll from it contents. He begins to unfold it carefully and swiftly.

/poke hello?

[Lord Skybolt]

As Arnulf dash's after the "monkey men" to stop them from escaping with the kids . He just catches up to them . As they try to escape he pierces the heart from behind as it tries to get away . As Arnulf is running up to stop the creatures from escaping Alia Bolt flies true to her target of the other one that Arnulf can't stop from escaping . It dies as the bolt passes through it's head . Right after doing so she's does something strange and pokes the tree next to her for some reason . As this happens in a few seconds the professor is searching for a scroll that only he knows of what use to the present situation who knows . The rest of the party stop what they were doing to hear the silence of the forest for a moment .

An silence seems to come over the forest as the possible last of "monkey man" is slain and then the kids that were recaptured start crying for there mothers . WHAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa

Alia reloads her crossbow and remains alert, but will begin to gather up the children and shepherd them back towards the village, presumeably heled by the others

[steveflam]

"Coolllll!," utters Arnulf under his breath as the monkey men die. Then the crying begins and he looks around for some help. He moves close to the two children, trying to comfort them. "It's okay now. You're safe. We'll bring you to your mothers." He has sheathed his weapons and removes the net from them.

"A little help here, please." he calls out.

[ewancummins]

Dalorna turns to Sara and asks-

''How many children and how many monkey men did you see in the village? ''

The readhead girl whistles for Hobb to return, as she waits for Sara's reply.

[VAN]

Sara reloads her guns and replies to Dalorna's question.

Then goes to help the other gather the children and comfort them.
