Re: The Devil's Dreams OOC
Anybody got area of effect spells to help out Eustace? Dorgio's got Holy Storm, but the last time I tried it on these things it had no effect. The spell only targets evil creatures, so is it possible the rat "demons" are unaligned? Hmm...
Oh hey Ewan for Dorgio's cure moderate wounds he burned the Find Traps spell.

You didn't actually try it on the 'lantern-eyed demons.' You only hit the rat swarms. The 'demons' were hiding in the tunnels, outside of the spell's area of effect.

Okay, that's where I got confused. I thought I'd been targeting the bigger rats but the demons must have been out of my range like you said. I'll keep that in mind.

If it changes anything, Quick March is cast as a Swift Action. This is like a Free Action except that only one Swift Action can be taken.
Shouldn't that give me the rest of the round to work, including a full-round action?

(This includes AoOs)
The spell works.
Dorgio was struck for 4 points- leaving him with only 2 hit points.
Everyone within 20 feet of Eustace gets a 30 bonus move. That's most of the group. The other are already pretty much across the cavern and at the tunnel mouth...
Eustace is trapped at the southern (stream outlet) end of the cavern by a large gang of the creatures! He is surrounded on all sides. He cannot withdraw, as he has cast a spell and withdraw is a full round action. He cannot simply run out , as that would require an overrun action with the monsters are all around. He doesn't have ranks in tumble. Movement options are limited, ATM.
Eustace has cast a spell (standard action). He may still perfrom a move action.
He does have a + 12 (base move 60) to jump right now, just this round. The only thing is- he has no room for a running start, and he really can't clear the monsters heads and arms without one. The only way he can jump is straight up. The ceiling is fissured and irregular. Water flows through it in places ( as described earlier, that how the pool fills).Watch out for the stalactities!
Let me know what, if anything, Eustace is doing with his temporarily increased move. Remember, it only lasts for this round, and then it is gone.

Hmmmm...I'd say so. So, give me your actions. Jumping for the ceiling? Blasting with Light of Lunia? Someting else? There is now no clear space through which to withdraw. The gap is closed.Ail wrote:If it changes anything, Quick March is cast as a Swift Action. This is like a Free Action except that only one Swift Action can be taken.

Casting a spell as a swift action does not provoke AoO. Eustace can keep those hit points.

Eustace is totally surrounded by blood-crazed monsters.Ail wrote:Thanksewancummins wrote:Casting a spell as a swift action does not provoke AoO. Eustace can keep those hit points.Well, I guess there's still no room for a running start is there?
They are packed into the southern half of the pool cavern, climbing over each other in their haste to rend his flesh. They are coming up the stream tunnel at his back. He's boxed in.
Death is coming for the monk.
Actions now, please.

So. No way to get to 'the Circle', then?
Re: The Devil's Dreams OOC
Eustace tries to throw in one specific direction one of those fire bottle they had brought. Preferably the nearest to the stream.ewancummins wrote:Eustace is totally surrounded by blood-crazed monsters.Ail wrote:Thanksewancummins wrote:Casting a spell as a swift action does not provoke AoO. Not in a single round, no. Patience, young padawan.
Everline can advance. She can catch up with Alain and Zandor. The 'Circle' is somewhere beyond that dark tunnel that Alain and Zandor have just entered...

Ther ones coming up the long tunnel are actually in the stream, so I'm assuming you mean those. Action noted. You didn't give me a roll, so I rolled for you.

Re: The Devil's Dreams OOC
3rd round-
Will save for Thom to overcome the hallucinations, please.
I need an action for Alain.
Everline, too.
Spot checks for both, please.
The other players may state in OOC what their PCs will do this round. Yes, I'll let you switch it up, so long as the changes are reasonable and the actions are rules-legal.
Keep in mind that the tunnel through which Alain, Zandor, and Everline went is not big enough to admit more than two abreast, and that's a tight fit. The party minus Eustace may enter this round, but each PC must come in on his own turn. Alain and Everline will act first, in the smaller cavern.
Is anyone staying in the big cavern to rescue Eustace. or are you guys leaving him for the hungry demons?
