Re: Changelings part I: 27 Charity Street
F: "Only one way to take the sword now Helfried!"
Seradon takes a few steps towards the back and starts chanting in an obscure magical language. A shadowy purplish halo covers his upper body and arm, that is extended with hand pointed towards the warrior with the exquisitive sword that Seradon doesn't want to taste. Although the words don't mean anything to anyone present they seem somewhat offending, not directed to them but offending.
The halo gathers in a pinpoint in Seradon's fingertip and a purplish ray shoots out to hit the Brutish warrior, bathing him momentarily in a purplish shadow that would seem... unclean as the spell saps his strength before it dissipates.
Everyone watching are left with a feeling that they watched something wrong taking place. Something that shouldn't have been that way.

Re: Changelings part I: 27 Charity Street
The oncoming warrior sags and stumbles as the spell weaves about him, his sword wavering a little, but he recovers himself and continues the advance. He locks eyes with the wizard and moves towards him, but Gorn and Helfried move into his path
Re: Changelings part I: 27 Charity Street
Gorn swings his chain at the warrior, attempting to wrap it around his sword arm so as to prevent the warrior from using his sword. He also moves aside so as Helfried can flank the warrior with him.

Gorn and Helfried move swiftly in. Helfried moves first and strikes at his foe, but the veteran warrior moves with blinding speed stepping past the blow and striking back with the same blow that laid Helfried low before. Helfried, however, is not the man to be caught the same way twice, and he deflects the stroke, aided by the weaker arm swinging the sword: although still stronger than the average man.
Gorn swings his chain in a long sweep. The warrior sweeps his sword up to deflect the blow, but he is unfamiliar with his adversary's weapon, and though he successfuly parries the chain merely wraps around his blade and wrist instead of his wrist alone.

In Falkovnian Helfried growls, "Put all your strength into keeping him from swinging that sword arm! Damn your language! Saradon, tell him please!"
Re: Changelings part I: 27 Charity Street
Gorn tries to use the chain to pull the warrior to him and clothesline him across the neck.

Noticing that nobody follows her Catherine stops running and getting out her gun turns and aims at the warrior. She waits a few seconds to have clear shot and then shoots at him.

The warrior is barcing against Gorn's chain and trying to fend off Helfried: and he doesn't seem to recognise the gun as a threat. A cloud of smoke wreathes Catherine as a shrap crack echoes across the battlefield, and the warrior staggers, shot deftly in the chest.

Gorn is stunned for a moment, but seeing an opening he takes it! Jumping on the man to straddle his chest he begins pummeling his face over and over again if he can.

Not that accustomed to gunfights and pitched battles, Seradon needed a moment to clear his thoughts. He nods to Helfried and calls out
M: "Gorn! Keep that soulsucking sword at bay! Disarm that guy or hold his sword away or something! The real danger is the sword, not the guy!"
Seradon then moves a bit to the back, watching the battlefield to see if they're about to be attacked by a bunch of armed warriors.

Re: Changelings part I: 27 Charity Street
As the warrior jerks on the chain to free himself, Gorn hurls himself upon him, and they both crash together. As they come apart, all can see that the strange warrior is staggering back, his own sword driven through his side and emerging from his stomach. Even as he pitches forwards into the snow, the group suddenly find themselves in a low, dark tunnel, light from above streaming down behind them, along with Huldra's lilting song:
"And ain untae the tither did say-o, where shall we gang and dine the day-o, where shall we gang and dine the day?"

Gorn is about to jump on the warrior again, then finds himself with the others in the tunnel. "Whu tha frag? This shit has got ter stop happenin! Freakin magical mumbo jumbo a pain me arse awready. You guys owe me a few beers."

Catherine has finished reloading when sees the fighter and the sword vanish. She swears in low voice realizing that they have lost their chance to defeat the ghost and they have no cluse how to find it again. The scenario change doesn't surprise her much, the sword has many powers maybe could even create some illusions. Looking around to make sure they are safe she gets closer to ther companions and says:
"We don't know how this sword affects the one that holds it, maybe it vanished because the warrior was defeated or about to be. As I understand it the ghost in the sword sword wants to be held by powerful fighters and this might be its way to punish the warrior for the failure. What I don't understand is why it disappeared as well, it could remain and pass to Gorn, the one that actually defetead the previous owner."
She sighs unable to find an answer at her last remark.
"Lets get out of here maybe Huldra can enlighten us."

Seradon, takes a moment to adjust to the change. After it's apparent they're back in the celar, he looks around alarmed to see if the cursed sword is around. After seeing it has vanished he turns to the others.
F/M: "Let's not forget why we're here my allies! It's the sword that wants us or we want it. Not exactly clear at this point"
M: "Yes Gorn, I think we can safely say we owe you a couple of beers. Thank you"

Helfried stumbles a bit as the scene changes, his footing lost only in his mind, he straightens up a bit with a wild look in his dark eyes. Visibly shaken he whips around trying to take in as much of his surroundings as possible in the shortest amount of time.
"Aye." He says through a heavy swallow. "In any case we can't trust our surroundings. This cursed cellar is a haven for wicked things." Looking away briefly he adds, "Gorn should do fine."alhoon wrote:F/M: "Let's not forget why we're here my allies! It's the sword that wants us or we want it. Not exactly clear at this point"
