ROALD
Roald kneels before the Archprelate and kisses his ring to accept the blessing. After the Arcprelate is done, he stand up and hears Foerde talking with the injured monk.
"A man with a hook for one hand?" Roald repeats. He turns and marches up beside Foerde, leaning down towards the monk.
"You," he points at the monk. "Is that man still on this side of the Tuor? Answer quickly."

Foerde listens to Brother Theon's story, he laughs when he calls the priests of Haelyn cowards. "Cowards? Yet they still stand with only one injured and you, along with some of others, sit here chained while the rest ran away. Just think on that for a moment Brother and then ask yourself who the true coward is."ewancummins wrote: ''Uh, yes, Brother Foerde. There were couple of the other monks and some acolytes with me, along with a bunch of the lay folk."
He bites his tongue.
"It wasn't my idea! We were instructed to do something about those stupid cowards."
Theon's face twists into an ugly sneer.
"A man with a hook for one hand was handing out silver coins and free beer this morning, down near the waterfront. I thought he worked for the Order and was just being, um, discreet. He told us when the Haelynites would hold their rally. We knew what to do after that.
Don't you see? We've got to keep the war on till Duke Devlin conquers all of Alamie. That's good for Tuornen. That's good for the Militant Order too."
He doesn't wait for Theon to give a reply he just continues on. "Oh I see clearly, it your vision and judgement that is clouded. You lot were unwittingly have taken apart in an attempt to sow dissension within the city. No doubt a plot from Alamie in which they wanted to have the city destroy itself from within.
What you did could have ended far worse then it did. Have you any idea what would have happened if Haelynites had killed Cuiraecenites or the other way around? Worse even what if you had injured or killed a city watchmen or innocent civilian?" He says this time giving Theon a moment to think about it.
Foerde shakes his head at Theon. "You, the other monks and acolytes, will serve a great penance for your actions here today. If I can manage to get you and this lot released from custody, you will return to your superior and inform of your actions here today. You will spare no detail, you will name your accomplices. You will tell him that when I return from my mission if I am not satisfied with penance you lot are serving he will join you in a penance of my choosing." He says.
"Do you understand?"

"Good" Foerde says.
Placing a hand on the monks shoulder, his tone becomes much lighter. "Remember brother, that once you have completed your penance. You will be stronger and wiser then you were before." He says to Theon.
Standing Foerde looks at Roald. "We can deal with hooked man later. We have more pressing matters to deal with first." He says and then walks towards Renn.
"Captain, I would ask that you release these men." He says.
Turning his attention to the Archprelate, Foerde speaks. "Your Holiness, it would seem you have a spy within your ranks." He says. "I assure that the monks and acolytes of the Order who participated in this little riot will serve a penance."

The Archprelate performs a three part ritual with the aid of two under-priests, reciting some passages in Old Andu. quoting Haelyn's Book of Laws several times and asking the god to bless and aid Sir Roald in his righteous quest.
Roald feel his steps fall very lightly on the pavement as if unseen angels hovered just above him, reaching down to lift him a little above the street littered with busted sticks, burned cloth, bloody cobbles, and other traces of the riot.

''There was no need of a spy. The demonstration was not a secret. Anyone attending our services in the morning might have heard about it; the matter was discussed openly after the rites. The common people, many of them, really do want the war to come to a good end, and soon. Advocates of a just settlement have nothing to hide, nor any need of skullduggery. ''

Foerde nods, having no want to argue with Archprelate. He'd rather be on his way and one step closer to bringing Riegon to justice. Guess he and others will just have to look into the matter when they return, if they return..

When the chanting stopped, he turned around. I guess Renn has a talent for crowd control.
Then he hears the angry voices. "Oh that can't be good."
Roald runs outside the watch HQ just as the two crowds begin to move towards each other.

Even fueled with booze and zealotry, the rioters were not stupid enough to rush Gunnar.Lord Skybolt wrote:"Yes, you have good point . So it will be concealed until it si really needed . The Archprelate offers a brief prayer for Foerde, and dispenses blessings on any others who wish to receive such.

DEVLIN
Devlin's quick march has carried him and his men near Griffin Castle; before the song has even hit its second chorus the men stride through the fields near the high walls and tall watchtower.

(You are making good time, and this is still early in your march. You have an opportunity to gather supplies, RP with Count Montros, or do other stuff. Or just press on past the castle without stopping. )
