Ill-fortune and the passage of time were so much harsher with him than with me. I seem to outlast all my enemies."
"I suspect that's not going to be a problem for you this time, Your Grace," says Roald with dark chuckle.

ROALD, HAES.

Roald grunts incredulously. "You flatter me, Your Grace. It almost makes be forget the fact you tried to burn me and my allies alive."

Despite Filbert doesn't agree with openly get Carillon at the palace he doesn't do anything to stop Roald. He hopes Roald to know more about strategy than him and he trusted his instinct so the halfling follows at the back of the group and doesn't get part at the discussion since it was Roald's private life the one touched.

The butcher comes up empty handed.

He squints at the gold piece.

"uh. muh...more. I need more."
Morgan places twenty gold coins, in two neat stacks, on the bar. "Now, my friend, what can you tell me?"

CORMAC

For his part, the druid follows along behind the group, not overly interested in this courtly sparring.

"I thank ye fer the rescue," Cormac says to whoever isn't busy bandying words with Carrilon. "Didnae know if anyone was goin' to come back. Do ye suppose the witch woman will be alrigh?" He shakes his head. "It'd be kinda a waste if we jes had ter go back an' spring her. Though, we seem to be averagin' one high noble per trip, so I guess it ain't entirely a waste o' time."
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Filbert smiles at the druid.

"Don't even mention it, I felt a bit responsible for leaving you there but the guards were pressing and I didn't know for how long we could avoid them. It's same thing with Safana, I do hope she makes it to escape by herself, she is resourceful, but if she doesn't I plan to go help her."

Morgan pulls out his mortar and pestle and immediately starts mixing up a concoction to that will cause the victim to fall into a deep sleep. He keeps an eye on the butcher, signalling that man should carry on cutting the meat.

The butcher sniffs at the stuff Morgan is mixing.

''Ugh, what the hell is that shit? It smells horrible. You use it to smoke out rat's nests, or something like that?"

SAFANA

Safana scuttles up the wall like an overgrown arachnid, just in time to avoid the narrowing circle of men groping to catch her. She reaches the top and there casts another spell, causing an unbroken ashen facade to form over the sooty wall where her tracks show. The dogs sniff for her and the men continue to comb the street. Several look up at the wall, but shake their heads and go back to looking down below.

At the top of the castle wall, Safana finds seven maids scattering ashes, loose dirt, and dust on the upper walkways.

''This is a lot more fun than cleaning the castle ever was'', says one of the younger servant girls.

An older girl shoots a sharp look at the cheerful young girl.
''It's not a game, you stupid brat! This is war.''

Safana looks with some amusement at the young maid, then deftly begins traversing across the wall, aiming for an area the pursuers have already swept. She is already eyeing the buildings around the castle for the rest of her escape.

The ground seems inhospitable just now...

CAER HAES

"At your service," Renn says with a look of pride as Carilon mentions being stabbed in the back. "My regrets, prisoner. Had I struck more true, we wouldn't have to be having this conversation."

Renn turns to Roald, clearly annoyed. "I think we've fraternized enough with our guest about his war crimes. Let's get this son of a bitch chained and dungeoned so he can't use his silver tongue to cast doubt in our allies, or use his fell powers to cast spells. The sooner he's hanged, the better."
