The encampment is not within the bounds exactly, but there are times when the students can leave them, for example, to go to the village. Usually, these are organized outings. Fiachra's understanding, possibly resulting from some conversation with Father Richard, is that it is ok for students to go out to unplanned places if they're accompanied by a member of staff.
