Re: Mists of Winter: Chapter Three
He shakes his head at Benn's offer of beer. "No, I have the copper, but I promised Lorna I would, how are you saying, reign it in. Better for her, and likely better for the case."
"But what is this you are saying about the scroll? Whose ancestry?"

"It was some sort of Barovian Royal Lineage," Benn responds, "Do you think it's related?"
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Vlad goes to the bar and comes back with a full mug in each fist.
He shoves one at Sara.
"Drink, you must grow be growing big and strong like Barovian mountain woman!"

Re: Mists of Winter: Chapter Three
The door swings open and a gang of laborers stagger in, shaking off coats stiff with sleet and frost.
A pretty barmaid moves past the workers and approaches Franz, eyes fixed on his face from across the busy barroom.
"You are Franz?"
She holds up a swatch of rag cloth bound with string.
"This is for Franz."

"Ja... I am Franz," he replies as he takes the cloth package. "Who gave this to you, Fraulein?," he asks as he feels the package first.
Then he opens it as he waits for her reply.

Undoing the string and unrolling the cloth, Franz finds a lock of dark brown hair.
Greasy letters spell out three words on the off-white cloth's inside:
VIEW CONTENT:
"Oh, some foreign gentleman. He's right over--"
She looks back, scans the room a moment, and then turns back to Franz.
"I'm sorry, I don't see him now."

"Danke, euh, tank you Fraulein."
Franz stands and walks over to where Dorgio is sitting, bringing the package.
"Bitte Sie, Dorgio. De girl MAthilde has ned of me," and he shows the priest the package.
"Vill you accompany me?"

Re: Mists of Winter: Chapter Three
Raen opens the door and enters the tavern that seems pretty busy so early. Raen has cleaned himself from the soot although he still has a slight limp from the ankle he twisted. He shakes the cold and snow out out of his cloak and as he spots the others, he moves towards their table. "Hello everyone." he says with a smile. "I wonder if the taverns are full so early in the morning if anyone works at all!". He proceeds to take a seat when he notices Franz's expression. "Is everything all right? Did we have another incident that I didn't hear about?"

Raen looks the letters and frowns. Then looks at the others. "Should we go to help this Mathilde or go after Jenny? The longer we wait to confront the witch, the colder the track but this woman seems to be in need, now not later"

Vlad wipes foam from his mouth, steeping closer to Franz.
''Letter?"
He leans over the cloth and squints.
He sniffs.
"This ink.... smelling like grease, like something coming from inside an animal. But maybe I am smelling something else. There are many odors here."
He picks up the hair.
"Looks human. This is the same color as the girl's hair, Franz?"

Bennedict sighs. "It never rains, but it pours," he mutters, "I suppose we had better at least look into it. Maybe we can at least find a problem that will be EASY to resolve."
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."
