Maybe. Make an INT check.
Roll your Intelligence score or less on a D20.

Check on BR.net.
There are utilities for a lot of stuff like that.

When I see a couple more more posts from players, I will update.
Or you guys just give me the go-ahead in OOC, if you have nothing to add in IC thread.
I hope everyone is having a great Christmas season.

Success.
Okay, so he knows this much:
The arrows look elf-made.
Flint heads suggests a set of elves with a limited supply of iron or bronze (access to tin and copper). It's not because they are primitive. Elf-smiths are mostly as good as human smiths. But if you don't have extensive mines and if you have lost your old trade partners/routes...
The Manslayer's elves have few trade contacts and rely on raiding for anything they can't get out of their own small country.

Rough comparisons:
Anuire is about the size of Oregon or the UK.
The whole continent of Ceriila is like Western Europe.
Overall, population density is pretty low by historical standards; even considering wars and plagues.
Rather than retcon that, I reinterpret it along World of Greyhawk lines.
Province levels, being a rough measure of population and economic development do not include MONSTERS, itinerant folk, brigands, little isolated villages and independent communities, etc.
Monsters have to eat, too! All those monsters take up land as hunting and foraging range.
Of course, in a goblin country, goblins make up the normal citizenry, so they are counted.
Ditto a bandit clan inhabited anarchic ''province.''
IMPLICATION FOR RULE DOMAIN ACTION
Rule action increases province level. Where does the increase in population come from?
Over a long term, it can be natural population growth. But shorter term, it means immigration.
It also means bringing untaxed and uncontrolled populations under the regent's RULE, thus the name.
Getting nomadic folk to settle and create farms, setting up trade fairs, encouraging marriage, and so on could all be part of ''rule'' action in a province.

Gunpowder exists. It is called ''hellpowder.'' Common folk consider a kind of magic.
Hellpowder is a fairly recent invention. Some clever blacksmiths have made ''serpents'' and ''gyns'' that hurl stones or metal by force of powder. (Carilon Alam used such new fangled weapons in his attack on Haes, last campaign arc)
Think Medieval guns, not the later stuff that might otherwise be implied by some of the Late Medieval and Renaissance elements in the game-world.
Printing press. Anuireans have had basic printing tech a long time. But in recent years a new technology has arrived from Brechtur-- moveable metallic type.
Pamphlets and books are becoming more common in cities like Haes.
SCIENCE-
Round world- One can no doubt find backwards peasants or barbarians who don't understand the idea, but otherwise it's common knowledge. And it has been so for hundreds of years.
Heliocentric model I held in higher favor than geocentric model in most lands, but it you aren't an astrologer/astronomer(there's no real difference) you probably don't know much about this. This is only a politico-religious issue for followers of Avani in Khinasi. That's because the Khinasi believe that the Sun is the palace of Avani.
(I edited because leaving some doubt is fun).

Khinasi has a lot of prairies, with hardwood forests in the southeast. Warm winds from the south.
The Tarvan Waste is a semi-arid region, but not a true desert.
Rjurik is like Anuire but colder because of four factors:
lies somewhat further north
cold winds and currents from the northern seas
elevation (it's often called the Rjurik Highlands)
influence of the realm of the White Witch (think Narnia cursed with winter)
Similar factors make northern Brechtur and most of Vosgaard colder than the southern countries.

Please send me a character sheet, updated with any changes since last campaign arc (xp gained, items gained or lost, titles awarded, etc.).

Ewan suggested I share the one I'm using. I actually don't even remember where it came from. This is Cormac's, so you'll have to clear his stuff out. I even put a tab on the last page for holdings, if you want to mess with those.
VAN wrote:I will send you the character sheet in couple days Ewan because I'm in the middle of moving back home.
No problem. Update when you are able and ready.
I'll move one or both scenes forward once I see more posts from other players.
I don't want to move too quickly, and make it hard for people to follow the action.
