DOMENICA
NIGHT
STREETS OF HAES
Wrapped in a thick cloak, Domenica follows Finn to the spot where he left Volmar.
Gimp carries a lantern.
She does not see the dwarf or the Watch. Just darkened windows, closed doors, and empty streets. The cold night wind drives a few scraps of trash rolling down the lane.
''We were right here. Look-"
Finn points out a figure stretched out face down in a drainage ditch on the side of the street.
He approaches and rolls the still body over.
Gimp shines the light down over Finn's shoulder.
As Domenica gets close, she sees Crowley's muddy face staring up, mouth opened as if screaming. But the dead man makes no sound.

Looking around, the little party finds a few footprints in the cold mud, but can't track these far.
Then Gimp groans, pointing his lantern down the street to his left. He raises a finger to point at his ear.
They see nothing but empty pavement and more shuttered, closed houses.
But they all hear it now, a rumbling, clattering sound in the distance, like a fallen tree rolling down a rocky hill.

The party follows the noise.
They hear the racket growing louder, then receding, and then ending in a loud crash.
Rounding a corner, they see Volmar sitting in the lower end of a down-slanting street amid a heap of wooden splinters. He holds his mace in both hands, with his shield slung on his back. The dwarf gets up, falls back on his rump with a clinking of mail, and groans.
Torches flicker and footfalls thud up at the top of the street.
Does DOMENICA help Volmar?
Flee?
Do something else?
She hasn't much time...

Finn hesitates for a moment.tarlyn wrote:"Punch me! In the face. Then wait here while I distract the guards. I will lead them away!."
And then he socks DOMENICA in the face, hard but at a glancing angle.
The lantern light starts shaking.
Gimp moans, writhing where he stands and rubbing his free hand over his studded leather armor.
Finn hurries to aid Volmar.

"GIMP, help Finn. That's an order!
Then she rushes out into the street, Runnimng errantly towards the approaching lights and men.
"HELP! HELP!" pointing in the direction away from Vollmar and her men. "HOODED BANDITS! They -THEY attacked me... sob --- sob...."
She holds her face where Finn cocked her for good measure.

Gimps leaves of doing whatever it is he is doing and hoes to help Ginn.tarlyn wrote:"GIMP, help Finn. That's an order!
Then she rushes out to attempt her plan
DOMENICA rushes away...
...
She whips round a street corner then weaves back onto the lane she had left, coming up behind the party of at least a dozen watchmen.
Standing in the light of their torches, she yells...

The Watch patrol stops. Several men turn round and stare.
One says,"What, hooded bandits? Which way?"

She points in the opposite direction of where Vollmar and Fiinn with GIMP are, hoping to give them enough time to get away.
"Over that way, sir, please, one attacked me but I kicked him in the shin and got away. I think I startled them."

He lifts his torch higher.
"Them? How many were there? A few or a big group? Quick now, lady!"
He tugs at his mustache with his free hand, looks around at the thirteen men with him, and then casts a glance back down the hill (the direction of Domenica's men)

Domenica will wait for the men to depart to walk back slowly towards where Vollmar was, hoping they got him away.
