Tom will try to calm Gem and not join the fight just now because it is 1 on 1 so kinda fair, but if anyone tries to help Barth or if he gets a knife or something to attack he will help.

If there's no money on the line, Alfonse will try to pick up the rules and go with it. Otherwise he'll want to have them explained.

Damien explains.

It's twenty-one, essentially. You are trying to get as close as possible to that value with your cards, without exceeding it.

Right now the risk is small and the potential gain is relatively large.
Oh, and the way they are playing, if you and Damien match scores, you play off against one another for the pot.

I've abstracted it all somewhat, as we don't have a built in card drawer here, and my players may or may not be into cards.

I don't have a gambling NWP. Intellect check and you can summarize how it turns out?

Loses three follaros.

Small loss.

But let's see about Penelope

reaction roll

No big CHR mod for Alfonse, but he's friendly, male, youngish, and was introduced by Damien,

So I grant a plus 2 situational modifier

Higher reaction roll is a better result.

edit will use standard 2e table, as it is in front of me.

lower is better.
bonus becomes a minus.

[dice]0[/dice]

Similar outcome--indifferent.

But not hostile or suspicious.

RP may alter this.

FIGHT!
Flubber belly cannot save the man from everything. Fearing the guards will intervene he won't shout but call, not caring if big-guy listens, to Tom to actually steal the man's money if he can while they fight. Mostly to irritate his opponent.
Attempting a strong kick!

Yeah!
Now, what damage? Also, I assume that kicks and punches are not deadly, right? Fild plans to vent off some steam on the big guy and make him retreat not kill him or do permanent damage. The plain ol' brawl.

I allow more or less free description of NONLETHAL attacks. These do 1 hit point of subdual damage plus any STR bonus.

If you want KO chances, possibility of 2 hit points dealt, trips and all that jazz, then it is the unarmed tables or called shots.

So the gnome kicks him.

Probably someplace low, like the shins.

Ouch.

Barth counter attacks with a random wrestling move (d20) hoping to close the gap and use his greater reach and bulk to pull the gnome down and ground him.

Van stated quite clearly that Tom will intervene if somebody pulls a blade, it gets life or limb threatening, or guys gang up on Fild. Otherwise, watching.

So we can proceed another round

By the point some people are cheering for Fild, or for Barth.

Guards are watching through the grillwork. Not stopping it. Indeed, they seem to be taking odds, making bets.

Simultaneous.

I will use a spoiler box.
VIEW CONTENT:
Barth goes for another random wrestling move, as the last one worked out.

VIEW CONTENT:
Grabs the Gnome's leg and twists, using greater weight to add force. Ouch.
Only 1 point subdual damage, but 8% stunning

Fild would jump on the guy, like attempting to bite him, hit him in the head, get a head-lock or something. Head though. I have no idea how the random maneuvers work. But Fild would know.

That's a hit probably.
How can I do a maneuver?

By the way, while attacking Fild would whisper "they're taking bets, probably against me. Throw the fight and we split the profit"
