Right, there's in a private room among friends, and then there is in public. Or to figures of high social standing.
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

I'm assuming i'm not high enough on that social ladder that I could conceivably introduce myself as a potential suitor.

Correct, not that high.Adam wrote:I'm assuming i'm not high enough on that social ladder that I could conceivably introduce myself as a potential suitor.
High enough to possibly speak with the Holbins about something they are interested in, maybe.
The rest of the party, save Titus, is lower class and socially invisible to the better sort of people under most circumstances.

Social Class
We will intro it now, instead of adding it late in play as in BR.
There are no mechanics involved, really, but it may affect various game social situations.
This is a quickie guideline, NOT a hard rule.
The UA stuff is my baseline, but I do not treat it as universal. Rather,it serves as what it was intended to be: a generic example.
GERTIE
A journeyman thief of humble origins.
LLC
TOM
A half-elf with the skills of a scout and fighting man.
Slightly higher status than his sister.
MLC
FILD
A Gnome from the Ghetto, true, but a fighting-gnome
MLC
ALFONSE
A journeyman Mage from an gentleborn family
MMC
TITUS
Only a minor priest, but still a spellcasting/empowered cleric of one of the more important/popular gods in POVERO
MMC
DAMIEN
as with Gertie

Looks at the list with Damien, but upside down.

I will leave the current scene open until you guys have a plan of action, or otherwise indicate your readiness to advance the scene. No rush. RP as you like.
The rendezvous with Richard Savelle is set for tomorrow night at one hour before midnight at the Dancing Maidens.
Questions, in or out of game?

23:00 its too soon to be at the meeting point, at 22:00 Elissa goes to bed. I would say if possible to postpone the wedding to midnight so we can get Elissa at 23.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
I'm thinking I could introduce myself or send a message by courier proposing a new trade opportunity with the family. If they accept, we could slip the girl away during the event.
My spell list: Sleep, Magic Missle, Read Magic, Detect Magic, Light, and the cantrip effects bluelight, noise, and unlock.

Sleep could be super useful.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Can we accurately tell the time? Like Tom suggests of "10 o'clock sharp"?

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
There are clocks, but most are large, all are expensive and custom made, and none keep perfect time.
Most people round to the hour, when they don't simply use the old fashioned system of 'watches.'
Aldron has set up a rendezvous one hour before midnight at the Dancing Maidens. This is approximate. All those times on the schedule are, too.
POVERO does have some public timekeeping structures/devices , most notable the Horologium in the Market District nearer the wharves. But the city is sprawling, and one cannot see or hear such a clock from all points.

How far away is the clock from Elissa's palace? If it isn't far away we can wait till 22:15 and then head there.
