Ravenloft on Netflix?

So I open my phone, and what do I see?
Netflix seems to be making a show about Strahd's backstory! I wonder how tied it would be to existing tellings like I, Strahd and how much it'd be its own thing.
Would you watch?
What other darklords would you want a TV show (or a novel, or a film) about?

I won't watch. Not just because I don't have a Netflix account but because I've been sorely disappointed by every adaptation the company puts out. Even if they start out good, they fall apart under "executive decisions" to change things to "increase mass appeal" within one or two seasons at most. Staying faithful to the core material is something that only happens when the original creator is involved and even that's reportedly a constant fight with corporate.

Hope it turns out well. I expect it will be Twilight with less baseball and fewer werewolves. I won’t watch until I hear someone who has seen it say it turned out good and/or faithful. Disappointed we lost the Drizzt series for a Strahd series, but I imagine it likely would end up bad too.
