The trip to Shadowdale

Ooc>Jarg goes with the girls because he has absolutely no reason to go to a temple!See last post he goes with the girls

"You might be right Inovidil and she did offer to stay with him all day as well. Then again they are elves and in the ways of romance it is most probably different than us,because they live so long. Who knows, ya might be right." Elvira answers Inovidil "He is her teacher after all and I guess for an elf he's kind of good looking" she makes a sour face and giggles.

Jarg looks at the 2 conspiriing women "Now now girls. I've nerver personally had any romance but I can't say they are hiding anything. Let's wait and see. I don't think it is either's style to hide things from us, from what I've seen from Brethana since I've known her. You've probably known Thalar longer and I doubt he hides things from you. Although it did look suspiciously like they might have something. Let time tell I say"

They continue shopping throughout the day not really buying anything(Unless Inovidil needs supplies for her spells i.e components).


Thalar and Brethana spend the day talking about Nature and tracking but do nothing else but keep each other company.

OOC> Reand has gome to buy a shield, not to the temple. No worries though, I'll edit my post so he will enter alone to the weaponsmith.

IC> "I don't know much about elves Jarg, but as a woman I have the feeling that they are closer than before. I'm happy for Brethana sje is a good woman and Thalar is inded good looking and nice guy too. Time will tell as you have said." Says Inovidil.

Inovidil gets some componets and then they turn to the inn for dinner.

"I like this town, you can find whatever you want!", Says Inovidil.

"True, I have gotten a large shield at a very good price." Says Renad.

"I have passed good time too, but tomorrow we should leave, it's long the way to Tilverton." Says Kel.

The next morning the party rises early and has its last home cooked meal for a while, letting Elvira have her 3 breakfasts.

They travel for a while , and encounter some orcs and goblins. A few days pass by with no encounters, which reassures some of the party but Thalar and Kel think it's not normal but say nothing,not wanting to worry the party. Only a week out of Tilverton, they camp for the night in the Stonelands.

"We should be there in 6 or 7 days by my guess, guys." Thalar says. "I'll actually be glad to be there it has been a long trip since Waterdeep!!!"

After supper, they discuss what they'll do once in Shadowdale: everyone knows what Inovidil wants to do of course and tease her about it.

"I might like to find a druid there I heard about in Waterdeep, guys. As you know I'm not returning with you" Brethana says sadly. "But it is something I wish to do and any of you are welcome to stay with me if you wish" she adds shyly.

"Well as for me I think I'll be glad when I'll be back home in Waterdeep myself. No offense Brethana but there is no place like home" Elvira says.

"I'm moving on in my travels guys, but thanks for the offer Brethana, but I do need to be on my way after Shadowdale" Jarg offers.

Thalar says nothing and remains quiet on the subject, just listening to everyone and smiling.

They talk for the rest of the evening and Kel and Renad have the first watch.

Kel and Renad talk in low voice as they watch the camp. Suddenly Renad graps the fighter's arm and whispers:

"Kel, have you heard something? Over there, I think I have heard a noise."

Kel stands up, gets his sword and goes to the direction the cleric has pointed. Despite there is not much light, the fighter manages to see some shadows moving.

"Wake up! Wake up! Get your weapons, we are under attack!" Yells Kel at top of his lungs.

Renad gets his holly symbol at hand, soon after his shield gets light.

"There are from this side too. There are zombies!" Yells Renad.

The screams of her companions wake Inovidil who gets a stone, casts light on it and tosses it to Kel's direction.

"I hope that helps you see brother." Says the evoker and stands up.

Notice that the party member are up, the zombies start moving toward them.

OOC> The zombies are 20 and they will reach the party in 2 rounds.

Thalar wakes and gets up gets his bow ready, shooting at the zombies once then getting his sword ready for the zombie attack. His arrow hits the mark but doesn't slow the shot zombie.

Elvira gets her daggers ready and throws them, knowing they'll come back to her.Her daggers hit true downing a zombie. It stumbles, falls then tries to get up, failing.

Brethana gets up. "I hate zombies!Foul creatures.Face my blades and die!" She gets ready to fight standing by the fire and the party.

Jarg stands up and shoots once with an arrow too quickly, missing. Then he gets his short sword ready.

Inovidil looks teh zombies arriving. With a smile studies points her finger and determiante an area at which are 5 zombies, a glowing pea-sized bead streaks from her finger, donates with a low roar and blossoms to a fireball. The flames get all five zombies, 3 of them fell to the ground withou moving, but the other two despite their body is damaged continue their move.

"OH oh, i don't like it. Zombies are mind less some one is controlling them, for this reason the ycontinue attacking us." Says Inovidil.

Renad gets his holly symbol and cries:
"Go back to dark you undead, may the sun distruct you forever."

Light gets out of the holly symbol and covers 5 zombies at Renad's side, 3 of themn turn imeediately to dust and the other 2 turn and start running away.

Kel gets his bow and aims a zombie, the stone with the light at his feet helps him hit the undead at the chest, but this keeps walking waving his arms towards him.

Suddenly a traslucent figure of a man appears and looks with an evil smile towards Renad.

"A wraith! Be careful of his touch!" Yells the cleric.

Brethana eyes the wraith and smiles. Growling and snarling she moves to meet the wraith head on. The wraith swings at Brethana but misses, but Brethana hits it twice stunning it enough for her to get out of its reach and ready for more combat with it.

Thalar's long sword swings once, beheading the zombie. The zombie next to it bites Thalar on the arm, hurting him slightly.

Elvira aims her daggers at a zombie hitting twice again, downing it for good.

Jarg ducks under a zombie's swing and his short sword flashes, right under its chin through its head. It collapses to the ground dead for good.A zombie bites Jarg on the arm hurting him as well.

[VAN]

Inovidil notices that the zombies are very close to cast another fireball, looking her friends fighting and decides to help them. She waves her hands and all her companinos except Jarg and Elvira feel that they cann move faster than before. Then the evoker goes backwards in order to have a safe distant froim the zombies.

The wraith doesn't attack Brethana, despite she is next to him, but it flies away and goes to Renad. Brethana slaces with her sword as the wraith leaves, but the sword passes through it, causinfg no damage to the undead. The wraith attacks the cleric who fortunately jumps back avoiding its touch.

Renad gets his holly symbol one more time and pointing it at the wraith. A while light cover the wraith and a zobie near it, both undeads turn and leave.

Kel attacks 3 zombies with his great sword. His first attack makes the first fell to the ground and then slashing again gets its body cutting it in half. The second zombie slams him, but get his breast plate, but the third zombie manage to get the fighter at the right foot. Kel's third attack pierces the second zombie's chest.

Seeing as her blades do nothing, she drops them and grabs her Great Sword. As the wraith flies by to flee Renad she swings her blade at it scoring a direct hit at its glowing body, then on the way back she hits it again almost cutting it in 2. The wraith swings at Brethana and just before and as she cuts it in 2, it hits. Brethana yells out in pain and stumbles, barely holding onto her sword. At the same time a zombie bites her arm, hurting her more. The wraith disappears in a flash of light.

Thalar runs a zombie through with his long sword, ending its unlife. Another zombie bites him and hits him with a club,making him stagger back. Thalar takes his second attack and beheads the zombie, the body falling to the ground.

Elvira gets hit by a zombie and stumbles, but gets back up and fires her 2 daggers again, downing a zombie.

Jarg dives behind a zombie, narrowly missing getting hit and slices his blade, cutting the zombie in half. Another zombie hits Jarg in the back making him stumble but he recovers.

Inovidil notices that 3 zombies are cominf towards her. Waving her hands casts another fireball. All the zombies burn and fell down.

Kel poercs one of the two zombies again killing it, then with the back swing of his sword gets teh second zombie at teh hand, His second attack kills it. Then the fighter seeing that two other zombies are near Inovidil goes and stands in front of her in order to protect her.

Reand get his morning star and attacsk a zombie near him, the undead doesn;s stumbles though and bites the cleric at the arm.


Suddenly appears a man dressed with a robe adn holding a staff, at which end is a scull. The man trembles and has 4 images. The man waves his hands, claps his teeth, 6 disembodied jaws of blue force appear and heads to Inovidil and Renad gnashing their teeth. The jaws attack the two spellcasters. Inovidil manages to move fast and the jaws doesn't bite her hard, but the 3 at Renad bite him bypassing his armor.

OOC> Manyjaws 3d6 damage Inovidil and Renad.

The necromancer has blur, mirror image, protection from arrows and mage armor.
Plus he is hidden and not close to teh party. But with full move plus the haste action you can reach him.

Ooc>Both Thalar and Brethana have really high rolls so they hit the mage. Brehana got really lucky by getting a 20.

Brethana breathes a moment, gathering her strength, then rages, seeing a mage. Charging an image that she misses, on her backswing she hits the mage square on the arm.

Thalar rushes after Brethana to the mage, cutting him once but missing the second time as the made blurs in and out of existance, hard to hit.

Elvira throws her daggers yet again and downs another zombie while Jarg downs the last zombie. NOw they turn their efforts to the mage. Elvira tosses a dagger once at the mage, but misses. Jarg tries to stab the mage with his sword but narrowly misses.

[VAN]

The mage smiles evily as from the ground gets out a mummy behind Kel. The mummy hits the fighter twice, but only the first attack gets him. The blow is so strong that Kel almost looses his balance, however he manages hits the mummy twice with his sword. Despite his effort, the fighter understands that he doesn't deal very much damage.

"This undead has skin really hard. I might need help here."

Meanwhile the wizard with a mad face and without manifesting any fear points his finger and determinate the area around him.

"Ino attack with fire" Yells REand and getting his holly symbol try to turn the mummy away. The white light appear one more time, but the mummy doesn't move.

Inovidil gets a bit closer and a burst of fire gets the area around her getting the mummy. Kel gets some damage too though.

"Sorry brother I should do it". Says Inovidil and lights a torch handling it to Renad.

The mummy attack twice Kel, barely misses him with the first attack, but the second gets him one more time. The fighter cries im pain one more time but he slashes twice with his sword getting the mummy both times. The third attack misses though.

The cleric attacks with the lit torch and hits the mummy as long as Inovidil cats another fire burst. The mummy finally falls to the ground and turns to dust.

OOC> You should do 3 attacsk of opportunity to the mage since he tries to cast a spell.

Inovidil has casted fire burst.

Brethana yells loudly as she swings her blade hard at the mage, hitting once. Blood spurts from his wound as he stumbles. THen on her backswing Brethana swings again and hits hard,cutting deeply into his arm.

Thalar rushes in and swings fast, while the mage is hurt. His blade cuts deeply in the mage 's chest, making more blood spurt. THe mage goes down on both knees.

JArg rushes to the mage and with a swing cuts deeply the mage's neck, his head falling to the ground, the body falling as well.

Finally the battle is over and the party can take a breather for a moment.

"Wow, that was a difficult battle, all of us get hurt." Says Inovidil.

"I'll heal you all, don't worry." Says Renad as heals the evoker.

"Thanks Renad, the spell the mage has used was very powerful, I wander if I can learn it myself" Says Inovidil as going to the mage and searches his body. First she gets his spellbook and the scrolls then concentrates for a while and call the others.

"Come on guys, this mage have soem money and magical items too."

Meanwhile Renad has healed all of them. Still worried about Brethana, the cleric asks:

"Brethana how do you feel? If you feel mysteriously weak yoy should tell me now, otherwise tomorrow I cannot help you."
