1) I was right? Whoo, me! Wait -- should I be happy that I managed to think like the authors of the Ravenloft Gazetteers? :?
2) S was going to be killed at Blaustein? Was she stupid or unfortunate enough to get married to Bluebeard or something? o.o
3) I -really- want to know what the authors originally had planned for the remaining Gazetteers! Aaaargh! >.< Was that information ever made available anywhere on the internet, or is there someone who could be persuaded to reveal the metaplot?

No, it's just the people of Blaustein hate outsiders, and S is not the easiest person to get along with.

Actually, S wasn't going to be killed -- she was going to commit suicide as an act of defiance upon realizing that Azalin had shackled her to a seemingly impossible and unending quest.

o_o; Whoa. First waking up in a fresh body and then finding her own corpse must've hit her as a double kick in the gut. ... From an angry mule. What would have been the end of the gazetteer metaplot as far as S is concerned, though?

Did the designers ever have a full name for S, or was it just left up to the imagination?

Well, considering where her story was set to end, I'm going to bet an e-dollar that S's ultimate fate has something to do with the terrible, mind-bending powers of the God-Brain. Maybe S's personality would've been consumed by the Illithid God-Brain, leaving nothing for the bracer to deposit back into a clone body.

Which, of course, would have been all according to Azalin's tetriary back up contingency plan alpha-naught, in which he gains valuable insight into the true nature of the God-Brain, or even a chance to communicate with it without going mad, using the bond between himself and his cloned "daughter", now trapped as part of the God-Brain's hive mind.

Either that, or she becomes a more managable Darklord of the Domain, either losing her body or somehow gaining sovergenty over the Mind Flayers. Or maybe she moves back to Darkon, reconciles with her daughter, and lives happily ever after, just for the sheer shock value of S /not/ coming to a horrible end.

What? S's last stop was definitely supposed to be Bluetspur? Where'd you get that information?

...

How the heck could she reconcile with her daughter? The girl's a ghoul. They don't kiss and make up, they offer to kiss and make up, then eat your face.
And considering S was canny enough to hightail it out of Tristessa's lair, odds are on she'd manage some trick to get away from the Illithids.

Hence my semi-facetious response to it. ^^

It´s a shame that the Gaz series ended unfinished.

Wow!!

How does she comes to know about the next part of her mission (and maybe Azalin´s intentions)?

By the way, can we get some info about what was reserved for "our hero" 8) after Gaz 7, including her fate after the end of the Gazetteers (would she meet Azalin or maybe do something involving her daughter?) and Azalin´s intentions with the 13 children?

And one more curious question, was S going to play some part in the execution of the plan (I mean, after the Gazetteers being finished)?

Much earlier in this same thread, which also talks about the "S as Azalin-clone" idea. There's a lot of great stuff in the earlier parts of this thread, like the "S as Azalin-clone", "S as the anti-Richten", and "Gaz Metaplot coincidentally setting off War of the Western Core, not purposefully but just as a side-effect of doing something else." It's definitely worth it to read this whole thread.

BUT... You were the first with the "downloaded memories into the bracer" so you definitely kick ass! Congratulations!

Actually, since the bracers don't seem to require a living brain, I don't think it'll be necessary to lose S in the process. But here's my guess:

The God-Brain's biggest desire is to know what it means to be alive, to walk and talk and breathe and eat and have a body to directly experience things through (as stated in RLDMG, which I and apparently everyone else missed, but which Mangrum explained here on the boards, eliciting a "Huh, that makes sense" from most people and eliciting a bitter flamewar from a poster named GodBrain, but that's neither here nor there).

My guess is that S is sent on this tour of the Demiplane to record information about the Demiplane, which is to be sent to the God-Brain. The God-Brain will take S's brain into its own mass, gaining even more sweet experiences of life via S's life's memories. S's memories on the bracers can always be reused to clone a new S, as God-Brains just use brains not souls or whatever. (Mind you, God-Brains are only composed of illithid brains, but I figure there's got to be a way around that)

Anyway, my assumption is the deal is this: God-Brain gets a great set of memories, including those of dying not just once but multiple times, to let it know even more what it'd be like to be alive, and perhaps also see that since Azalin could make clones of himself and S that a body could potentially be created for the God-Brain to inhabit itself. In return, Azalin has the God-Brain use its massive gestalt intellect to sort through the memories of S's for some certain pieces of information to give Azalin even greater insight on the nature of the Demiplane and on the Dark Powers themselves, insights necessary for wreaking vengeance on his Tormenters.

But that's just my guess. And I still wish that the trigger event for the War of the Western Core would be revealed... Even if it's just something like "Well, with the Via Strigos taking Darkonian trade through Nova Vaasa instead of Falkovnia, Falkovnia had no choice but to invade Borca so as to make up for lost resources..." And I hope the 4E adventure is related to the War of the Western Core, as I'd forgotten all about the idea when it was time to submit ideas to the FoS...
My name is lost to me
I know not who I am
And I await the crimson fires
That'll wash this world away!

... o_o Wow. That's some kick-ass speculation, there! Incidentally, if memory serves, the current GodBrain is moved by the personality of a human psion, who voluntarily gave the Illithids his brain so he could harness their power when the old GodBrain was dying. So there's already a human brain in there, which supports your hypothesis.

Isn't there a ring or a bracer in the VRGttL that talks about a ring of Craftsmanship or some such? The ring/bracer functioned by recording all the (2nd ed) nonweapon proficiencies into the bracer so that once the wearer dies, the lich can put it on and gain the use of the skills for a limited number of times.

I can honestly say I don't recall the thing at all. I couldn't, because I never even laid eyes on the VRGttL.
