"What in the name of the mists is that!"
Draven's shouts as his face turns ashen, paler in fact than when the other comes. But that image is only available to everyone for a few moments, because in a blink of an eye he turns tail and gets the hell out of there.
As he runs he pulls a battered silver ring form his pocket and muttering a swift curse at fate in general if this doesnt work, jams it on his finger and thankfully fades from view.
[OOC: big scary thing not good so running away and sticking the ring of invisibility on to boot]

Jacob turns to Van "Get out of here, join the others. Then attack the mage, I think he brought this dragon here." Van moves off and joins the others, relaying Jacob's message to them. "Jacob said we should attack the mage over there while he and Tarlyn deal with the dragon, he called it."
The dragon wastes no time and it's massive maw opens as it takes in air, then, before Tarlyn or Jacob can react, it breathes a cone of fire at both drow. Miraculously, both dark elves evade the dragon's breath, safe for now. The dragon appears to be mildly upset at the drawback. Tarlyn wades in with his two blades, attacking once, twice, three, then four times. Only two of his attacks actually touch the dragon's hard scale, dealing a substantial amount of damage. The dark elf seems tired and hesitates before attacking again, unsure. Jacob on the other hand, is very sure of himself and casts a spell, directed at the dragon.
Thus ends round 1.
Results of Round 1
Party has fled immediate area of the dragon.
Dragon breathes on Tarlyn and Jacob, they both evade the cone of fire.
Tarlyn attacks the dragon.
Dragon HP reduced to 280.
Jacob casts a spell at the dragon.

Lucius runs away from the big beast, as everybody else. Not sure if this really is the kind of creature people some times talked about in the university of Dementlieu in sarcastic tones, as being only the product of the vidid imaginations of lurid writers, at any rate it sure was better to move out of its sight.
He caught a glimpse of the controlling mage, far and ahead of them.
I had just the right thing for you in my bag, if only you were closer, he thought as he looked at the man, but failing that, maybe this will distract you long enough.
Now wanting to risk a spell failed due to his armor, he instead prayed to Ezra for a mystic sword to appear and attack the mage.
"That monster I summoned was probably a mistake, but here's hoping you will be more useful", he said low as he sent the sword in the other mage's direction.

Draven runs as fast as his legs will take him, in fact its only after a few minutes of said running that he realises the beast isnt after him, whihc is either because he's invisible or that the wyrm thing has other things to worry about.
Breathing a sigh of relief, he looks around for the others, but also catches sight of the robed figure overlooking the battle. Looking down to check he is still in fact invisible, he sets his jaw and moves as stealthily as possible towards the target, using cover as much as possible.
[OOC: Draven will head towards the dude with the eventual plan of giving his innards some ventilation via a sneak attack. He has the invisibility ring on and a 16 on a sneak roll (I really hate that dice roiller).]

Despite Van isn't affected from the dragon's frightful presence he decides in barely a second to follow Jacob's advice. He hasn't seen a dragon before but he could bet that he is a very powerful enemy and probably beyond his wizard training. So he runs and join the others.
When he spots the wizard, he smiles and waving his hands in elaborate patern, designates an area around the mage. A fireball is created and detonates as gets the wizard.

Alexander sneaks along, sure that the mage can't see him. So concentrated on his not being seen, and the fact that the mage won't expect him, that he walks right into a wall of nothingness? Thud! Draven falls backwards on his behind, having walked into an invisible wall???
Meanwhile, Van casts a fireball which flies true from his fingers but mere feet from the mage, encounters a barrier and blasts the said barrier, but harms noone.
Cornelius casts a spell that will protect him.
Lucius' Celestial beetle appears near the fleeing guards who flee even faster now, quickly outdistancing the beetle. In retrospect, perhaps Lucius could have used a better spell, but who knew a Dragon would show up.
William loads his pistol but waits, biding his time. He knew mages were tricky, so an opening would present itself and he would act then.
The mage observes the party with an evil smile, not doing anything. His only action is to put a hand out palm up. He then beckons the party with two fingers and says "Come and get some".
___________________________________________________________________
The mighty dragon attempts to bite Tarlyn, but sorely misses. It's left paw/foot swoops in and swats Tarlyn aside. The dark elf stands his ground, though the damage seems bad. The dragon's second front paw misses the elf, fortunately for him.
Tarlyn sweeps in at the dragon, blades a blur. Once....... twice............. thrice............. four times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The elvish blades strike true. They find a weak spot in the wyrm's armor, and capitalise on it. After the third strike, red thick ichor oozes freely from the wound Tarlyn created. The dragon roars in pain!
Jacob was positive the dragon would concentrate on Tarlyn, and thus waited patiently. When the wyrm attacked Tarlyn, Jacob cast his spell. A tiny ball of acid leaves his hand, but once it reaches the dragon, it is an orb of acid, and it splashes on the draqon's armor, actually penetrating the wyrm's tough hide!

Results Round 2
The party was not successful in attacking the wizard. Van cast a fireball but it attained only the mage's wall of force. Draven is a little stunned on his behind in front of the wall and has appeared! Lucius' monster beetle was not very successful in anything at all if only to scare the enemy guards. Lucius' spirtual weapon on the other hand did appear next to the mage after he moved. The weapon did strike the mage, not doing any damage. It did however distract him for the upcoming round, so in ROund 3 the make will go last. William on the other hand has his pistol cocked and loaded and ready to fire. Cornelius is well protected with his spell
Jacob cast an Orb of Acid at the dragon and Tarlyn scored some nice damage.
Health wise, everyone is ok.
The dragon is now at 180 hp

Lucius really can't think of anything worthwhile doing while the wall is up. He had not prepared for it, and his arts still do not include bringing down others' defenses. He decides on casting a Detect Magic spell trying to perceive the extent of the mage's wall.
"Perhaps I can send something above the wall", he thinks.

Draven sits on the floor looking rather confused, "dammit" he swears under his breath, then looking down realises the ring isnt on his finger anymore and that the whole world can see him "dammit" he mutters again.
Looking around for the others he wonders for a moment what to do, but then relaises he's standing right in front of a probbaley very powerful wizard who most certainly can see him. Reaching out he prods the barrier further. Okay its a wall, well every wall has to have an end I guess he thinks.
So returning the wizards hand gesture in a less polite fashion he heads left as quick as possible looking for a way round.
[OOC: double move left to see if this wall is a flat plane and has an end somewhere or whether he's wrapped it round himslef, eitherway Draven is a moving target]

Van looks at the wizard and frowns. Listening his friends he says:
"I can pass above it."
With that he waves his hands in strange patterns and says some arcane words. Immediately he polymorphs to a gargoyle.
"Anyone wants a ride?"
Says the wizard with a smile.

While Van and Lucius are discussing their plans, Cornelius [who is currently invisible] uses his stone shape spell to tunnel underneath the wall wherever a big enough rock lies beneath it.
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

The mage acts first. He points at the approaching Gargoyle and utters a word of power. A green ray flies from his fingertip but seems to slow to a halt. All around you, time seems to become slower. The Dragon battling the two drow ceases movement altogether. Jacob and Tarlyn move towards you, unsure of what is happening. Then a thick fog rolls in and it becomes abundantly clear what is happening. The mists are very thick and you can't see or hear anything around you. It's as if time stands till. A minute or is it a decade later, the mists roll back out.
The first thing you notice is the heat. It is very hot and humid... nothing like you've experienced before. Then you begin seeing where you are. A thick jungle. Steam rises off the plants. Everyone is present and accounted for.

Cornelius pops up out of his stone shaped tunnel to find himself....in a jungle? He notices the tendrils of retreating vapor. Mist-led again!
He turns to his companions and says, quietly, ''We need to figure out where we are. I suggest we look for a town, or at least some natives. I wonder who- or what- lives around here?''
