'If I Was A Darklord...'

I wouldn't necessarily be undead, but my home would quite probably be a dread version of the Metropolitan Library from the Librarian series of movies and T.V.-series.
I would have every book ever written there, a collection of rare and potent artefacts fit to make Darth Sidious sob with envy, servant creatures constantly on the prowl for additions to my collection and ready to meet my needs
... and no time or opportunity to really enjoy any of it for a long time.
My curse would be that whenever I was really starting to enjoy myself by reading, writing or studying, there would be some problem in the domain in which my library stood. Something only I could solve -- and the library would compel me to solve it, driving me utterly up the wall with frustration.

So yes, I'd be a dread version of Flynn Carson; all the magic, knowledge and science in the world at my fingertips, and 'adventure' would keep tearing me away.
And everyone in the domain would know who I was, and that only I could keep the land from tearing itself apart.
No peace.
No privacy.

I have a recurring dream that feels like a suitable Darklord curse...

I am an avid collector of comic books and love going to conventions to search for hard to find issues. In my dream, I'm endlessly wandering the aisles, going from booth to booth, searching for back issues of various comic book series from my favorite company that stopped publishing in the 90s.

However, I know in my head I know they have had several short-lived revivals throughout the years and there are whole damn series out there of my favorite characters that I've missed. I can see the covers and names so vividly in my mind, but I can never find a complete run, just an issue or two here or there. I move over to the next booth and start over again.

So, I search endlessly to complete a collection of comic books that don't even exist...

So I'm a mechanic by trade, and a bit of a procrastinator. Ironically enough, also a tad too attentive to details. I hesitate to say a perfectionist, because I'll start a project and have no problems leaving it in disarray while I venture off onto the next task. Lastly, I have an overwhelming disgust, almost fear, of insects.
I'd venture to say that my domain would be an expensive land of rural outskirts surrounding a large metropolis, think Houston and the surrounding counties but shrouded in mist.
There would be automatons and technology, but everything in the realm would suffer an accelerated rate of decay. Buildings and streets requiring daily upkeep, machinations rusting to the point of failure within a couple of days, constant repairs and parts-changing. And if something is left too long in disrepair, infestations of random insects would rise. Ultimately nothing would be able to be maintained. The city in squalor, most waking hours of inhabitants spent attempting to fight back the decay to prevent the onslaught of insects swarms.
Despite having my own staff constantly repairing my own manor, even my personal area would be a place constantly covered in spiders, termites, flies, wasps. You fall to sleep under newly woven sheets only to wake in the middle of the night to aged and tattered cloth filled with beetles.
You get the picture, I honestly can't keep thinking about it. It's making me think I can feel insects on me even now.
