WotC just announced "Project Lamordia" an adventure adventure that will be available on D&D Beyond in October for level 1–3 characters.
The interesting thing is that it’s a version of Lamordia set in the modern world.
I have no idea if it will be good or not, but it’s certainly unexpected...

I think we know how it’s going to go…

This looks to be more in line with the Hasbro focus on things, Content, like how much of Netflix or other network libraries are mostly just Content. Now, Content isn't bad exactly. But, given the modus of Hasbro/"WotC" for a while, I don't suspect anything mind blowing or innovative to say the least.
And well, I have a feeling the sadly unfinished Gothic Earth Eternal will prove far more compelling.

I am holding my Strahd stress ball in hand and getting ready for a big disappointment...
PS
For all of you collectors out there, I don't own a Strahd stressball, I don't believe one exists. So don't go out searching like crazy for one

Not looking great, not gonna lie. -- That said, goes with the current "Frankenstein" fad. And, selling "Real World Ravenloft" - something WotC have tried since 4e - might be quite a bit easier after "Stranger Things" and their "Upside Down" than it was before.
From a DM's POV, this is obviously easy to run because you get a lot referential outside media: "Frankenstein in the modern world", I think all of us can think of five books and five movies who already did that, and rather recently. I think that's why such an idea is appealing to WotC - it's reasonably accessible, even just between stuff like "Necroscope" or the novels of Dean Koontz.
What I am missing in this one is the same I've been missing in most post-3e Ravenloft: Playable content. 2e was strong because the adventures and adventuring hooks were strong. A lot of especially '21-Loft instead is writing prompts - "writing prompts" as opposed to "adventure outlines". -- So, what they're selling here is a beginner-level horror adventure that borrows the aesthetics for its advertismenent from mid-90s video games like "Final Fantasy VI" and "Resident Evil". ...Did that one really need a trailer?
