A '''toret''' is an [[anchorite]] who has established a [[temple]] with a [[congregation]] of at least five [[follower|followers]]. Any anchorite, including player characters, can earn the rank of toret. The title in independent of experience level. However, the responsibilities do not lend themselves well to the life of a traveling [[adventurer]]. For a toret serves as the [[guardian]] of his or her congregation, in so doing earning prestige within the Church. Torets may request financial assistance from their founding sect (though such requests may not always be fulfilled to their satisfaction).
