Welcome to Mistipedia's Help Page

We know this can all be a little intimidating, learning a whole new interface and formatting language. It is to all of us, but we can take it one step at a time and learn together. If all else fails and you can't figure something out, google "mediawiki" and whatever you're trying to do, and hopefully somewhere out there are instructions.

  • To edit an existing page, simply click on the "edit" tab at the top of that page.
  • To discuss the content of a page and possible changes to be made, click on the "discussion" tab at the top of that page.
  • For formatting tips, see the cheat sheet below.

Footnotes/References
Numbering is generated automatically.
To create a footnote or reference, use this format:

Article text.<ref name="test">[http://www.example.org Link text], additional text.</ref>

Article text.[1]
To reuse the same note, reuse the name with a trailing slash:

Article text.<ref name="test" />

To display notes, add the following line, which will automatically create a "References" section:

{{ref}}

Section headings[2]
A Table of Contents will automatically be generated when four headings are added to an article, unless you include the magic word __NOTOC__ in the article.

(=Level 1= is used only for a page's title, and is generated automatically.)
